i have my car back. i dont have the time right now but i will post some dyno sheets from GTM. to make a long story short i am making some changes myself to the pulley system and going back for a retune. you will see what i mean when i show you the dyno sheets with different pulley setups. basically when i switched to the 3.12,34,28 it killed my power big time. i am going back to the 2.87,32,28. i will post the dyno graphs up later when i can scan them at work.

here is a pic of the cog pulley setup we designed. with this setup i can run the 32/28 cog pulleys. i tried to post up my dyno sheets but the file was lost or some **** on my computer. i will have to rescan them at work tommorow. he's the deal with the 32/28 cog setup. i made 430.9 rwhp and 379.4 rwtq at 6000 rpm with timing pulled and running very rich. this was on the first run and then the cog belt broke. we tried the 3.12,34/28 combo with the idler end flanges machined down a bit after numerous runs and tuning the best was 398.8 rwhp and 353.1 rwtq. so as you can see that pulley combo just killed the power. so the extra cog idler pulley was developed and no further tuning was done. i decided to bring the z back to vegas and swap the cogs back to 2.87, 32/28 with the new idler pulley mod and i will go back to GTM for the tune. with the additional idler pulley the cog belt holds steady and breaking should not be a issue anymore. Sam is so curious what this thing can pull for power seeing we made 430 with out really trying he is willing to throw it back on the dyno and make minor tuning changes for no charge.

Lets hope that belt holds now ! I got a feeling it will . Ive been emailing a guy at Gates about the teeth shreading off . He had a few suggestions and using a extra idle was one of them .

That would be awesome. It's been a long road that will hopefully end with some nice numbers.

here are the dyno runs at GTM. graph on the left is with the 2.87,32/28 this was the first run and then after that the belt keep on breaking. we never got to tune on this setup but i am going back to GTM in a couple of weeks to retune with this setup due to the cog belt problem being rectified now with the additional idler pulley as shown in the previous post to this one. graph on the right is with the 3.12 34/28 tuned as you can see this pulley arangement killed my power and toruqe. we tried this due to thinking we could get the belt to stop breaking! after this setup we came up with the additional idler mod but at this point i did not want Sam to pull the vortech back off again and get charged more additional labor. so i told him i would drive the car back to vegas switch it back to the 2.87,32/28 myself and come back for a retune and dyno run at no charge,he agreed. sorry for the quality of the pics bye the way..............

That first dyno looks nuts. Still a decent number though.

Thanks Stan ! I enjoyed the club meet last night. and bye the way i am sorry about Mike. He acts like a total idiot sometimes, i think it is best if he just shuts his F'ing mouth around others that have a higher intellegence level than him. Maybe he can learn something about life if he listens rather that talk like a idiot all of the time. maybe i am being a little harsh on him............

so just for reiteration, the mounting plate for the rev-up places the blower cog and jackshaft cog closer?? Thats why you needed to take up extra slack?

why cant you run the 34/28/2.87 again?

yes to the first question. the cog's are closer together on the revup setup versus the non revup. i never ran the 2.87,34/28 it was the 3.12,34/28 that i ran. i think the 2.87,34/28 would be way to much boost for my stock block!!!
