we are seeing around 10 lbs of boost at 5000rpm, keep in mind i do not plan on tuning past 6600 rpm. on the street i was seeing 14lbs of boost at 6600 rpm with the old exhaust. i think the custom 2.5" exhaust i had GTM fabricate with a cross over installed helped a bit in reducing boost and improving flow. i hope not to see over 12 lbs of boost at 6600rpm. i know i am pushing the stock block at this point even on 100 octane. dam those weak *** connecting rods!!!!!!!!!! if i hit a little bit north of 450 rwhp and around 390 to 400 rwtq on a fairly conservative tune i will be happy.

bye the way stan is working on getting me a revup long block that had the oil consumption problem. if i get my hands on this engine i will start my stout engine build ( stroker kit ) and keep the z. thinking about building a 4.5 liter,10:1 CR supercharged vq ( 500+ rwhp s/c engine ) with a small shot of N20. or lowering the compression ratio and going with the greddy twins.................

well you're already hitting around 450tq at 5000 rpms if you're making 430whp at 5k so you should have no trouble hitting 390-400tq since you've already surpassed that

i forgot, are you going to get a 93 octane map as well? running 100 octane all day has gotta be $$$. And so you are are seein 10psi at 5000 rpms with the new pipes? You'll be blowing wayy past 12psi at 6600 rpms if thats the case. With all this boost, cams would make a ton of power and even more with headwork!!

cant wait for the sheets!

No, i will just have the 100 map. i do not drive this car much, usually just weekends. lets put it this way i purchased the car brand new in the begining of 05 and the odometer just clicked over 15,600.0 miles. i usually can fill my tank with 100 octane for $80.00 and do some very spirited driving all weekend long.

With the #'s you have already seen, doubt your car will complete the dyno tuning..

ya 430 WHP at 5000rpm is easily 100 hp more than any other vortech setup ever seen on a vq motor.

fun times ahead!

Yeah this should be interesting when it is all said and done. who knows the new belts may break as well! i would not be suprised if the engine let go shortly after the tune. i should plan on my build right now........

Building another block in the meantime is definitely a good idea. You are going into uncharted waters with the Si on your RevUp. Man, I can't wait to see the final numbers.

wow i just found this, how did i miss this? E trim or SI. trying to decide. i read the whole thread very informative. my question to you is why are you not running a filter to cover the impeller on the blower? i know the filter that comes with the kit is crappy. i used a "cold air" approach to this and have a filter sitting under my drivers head light. i see that you cut a space for air flow to the inpeller directly. have you had any issues of dust or anything collecting in there? isnt the purpose of a filter to protect the blower?

i have seen this on a few kits. just curious to if there is a pro to it.
also i noticed your cog belt is placed over the pulley vs. under how the kit is set up. any pros with this? i remember trying this when i first got my kit like 2 years ago. i put it back to the stock setting and felt a better pull in high RPMs.

thanks.

I am running a CAI that i fabricated with a velocity stack but on the pic's you saw it was not installed yet due to i just finished installing the Si trim blower. the reason i was running the cog belt over the idler was because i went with a non revup cog setup on the revup vortech kit. this was done due to the cog belt being to long after the conversion to the non revup setup and there are no belts available in the size i need. right now my car is a GTM getting tuned and we have to have custom cog belts made due to the cog belt failing at 5000 rpm plus. the custom belts will be made the proper lenght i need so we can configure the cog belt setup back to how vortech originally set it up. with the belt running over the cog idler there is less belt surface area on the jack shaft and supercharger cog pullys causing the belt to get over stressed and fail.

wow man sucks, why dont you go back to the original rev up setting with GTM pulley mod? and the new trim blower (installed yet or still waiting)?

Im getting ready to throw the towel in on this one. I may go back to the revup cog setup 34/32 due to this taking way to long. if i do that i predict barley breaking 420 whp even with the Si-trim. or getting my car back from Sam and comming up with my own modified cog pulley setup ( which i have a design scheme already made up ). i will be waiting even longer due to having to drive back to gtm after modding the cog setup and tuning again. this is starting to give me a headache. i will be talking to Sam tommorow to see how the custom belts are comming along but i already know he will not have any pleasing info for me .
