Default Vortech is 98% complete! Questions about some random odds and ends.

1. My bypass valve is making some strange sound at certain RPM. It sounds almost like squealing brakes. What is the cause of it? How can I fix it?

2. On the stock intake, there is a hose that connects to it. I think its for the EGR or something. Where does it go to now? Should I put a filter on it or something?

1) Adjust your bypass valve to show 6-7 threads above the locking nut.

Adjusted it to 6. Still does it for a split second between 800rpm - 1000rpm

That hose may be the air breather hose that goes on the back of the vortech filter..

you are supposed to extend that hose to the side of the filter on the blower. that sound is normal out of the BPV. you can add a filter from vortech that cuts down on it a lot.

1- to get rid of sound try showing 6-7 threads on the BPV, or increase your idle to 1k rpm

2- that is your breather hose for your driver side crank case. it is suppose to be hooked up to the air filter. if your not going to do this you need to put a small filter on it.

okay so I'm only showing 6 threads and it still does it. Tighten it some more? I'm afraid it wont be open as much as it should be at idle.

Mine makes that high pitched sound as well. I believe it is just the frequency. Is it the same sound at the end of the vid as well?

After driving around today, I noticed that when cruising in first or second, it sounds like a lot of air is coming out of the bpv. Does that mean my bpv is too loose? I'm only showing 6 threads by the way.

Check with a boost gauge, but I will say the mother f'er is LOUD anyhow. You're probably doing fine, just make sure you don't have compressor surge.
