Plus will get them jump and then you have to play catch up... which is never easy
No kidding! I mean those guys with the gt47/88's on the supras don't make boost until like 7800rpm, and they are only running in the 8's at 170+mph... LAGG monsters.

Neither do they... they are shifting at 8500 to 8800. Why would you need 4000rpm of revs in each gear. Intense's G was at full boost by 6k, and Intensefab says they can run it to 8500rpm no problem.

Not even the PRO RWD 2j cars spun them that high (intentionally). Rather than assuming, why don't you contact some of them and ask where they shift their cars... Larry at sound performance posts on here...go ahead.... ask away.

I'm not getting testy! Just saying don't assume... People like to believe everything they read... and that just isn't the case.

Piston speed is "kind of" the engine rpm limiting factor.

VQ35 (stock stroke) at 8500rpm = 7340FPM (piston speed)

2JZ (stock stroke) will only be at 7970rpm to have the same piston speed.

or a...

2JZ at 9500rpm = 8749FPM that would let a VQ35 go to 10,132rpm to have the same piston speed

I rev mine out to 8200 with no problems.

Yes many people with the 4780, 4788, or 5591 will shift in the 9500+ range. Most other peole with the smaller 42 and 45 frame turbos will shift anywhere from 8000-8800.

Isn't that like saying "I can fly" but only once??? what difference does it make where you set your rev limiter if you know that if you hit it, there's a good chance you will be changing the engine.. It's what the engine can take, not where you set the electronics. If I put my rev limiter to 15k is that now my redline???

i have never owned a supra before.. does that make me any less knowledgable about supra's? then something is wrong because you owned one and i didn't, yet you have no idea that some have had 10,000 rpm redlines

Bert, you are very confrontational.. i am not here to argue with you or start a fight, i am simply stating facts. If you don't feel anything i am posting is a fact then disprove it.. thats all.

BTW.. i'm the wrong person to argue with
