It's nice and peforms well. But still not worth it IMO. Then again some paid $800 for the SSV and you all know where that got ya. I'd rather settle for a meth kit upgrade. Good job on getting the testing data out there for everyone to see.

i guess if you are n/a with stock n/a engine then its not worth it...
but if youa re Fi with build engine then you should consider it

Okay, neither have I... Whats your point exactly?

The Cosworth makes 30hp over stock at $1,100. If a spacer made say 15hp over stock, at $200, then I would be hard pressed to convince myself the Cosworth was worth it. However, if the spacer only made 5hp or so, then the Cosworth is the way to go.

This is not a hard concept really... Cost / Benefit.

was the stock setup with revup lower plenum or non-revup lower plenum?

BUTTTTTTT

Cosworth makes power till REDLINE, so when your racing your power doesn't fall off at higher rpms.... which is a HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Also +1 on the meth kit and cosworth plenum

Only if I were a baller. But someone as myself. I would have to use the extra grand on headwork or something of that nature. The plenum game has come and gone. As the OP stated, cost/benefit ratio.

I maybe wrong....but didnt Hal post a dyno sheet with stock plenum vs plenum spacer and you could hardly tell which one had spacer and which one didnt, one line on top of the other

So that already tells me that that $200 would have been better spent on the Cosworth

And now they show a chart that clearly shows the Cosworth making big gains !!

BTW that was 30 - 40 "Whp" gain , not 30 "hp" gain

30-40 whp gain on a 4.2L

lets not forget a built motor with APS Extreme Kit on a 3.5L makes about 600 @ 19 PSI and a 4.2L makes about 700 @ 19 PSI IIRC ..

so you can't compare 4.2L gain with a 3.5L gain.. unless you planning to get a 4.2L

well i am sure its worth it to some people.. people pay $2,000 for exhaust that gives 3-5 whp .. so again.. to eaches own.. personally i would spend that $1,000 on a meth kit or a Nitrous Kit.. but thats just me

Really? Wow! And here I thought they pulled the block and put it on an engine dyno just to test the Cosworth plenum... Silly me.

+1. It would seem that the RevUP runners are designed more for 7000+ operation. I would think the Revup lower will start to find a home for some guys once people start truly building their setups for higher RPM power.

yeap, that is why I asked I went with the Revup lower plenum and a spacer and the car pulls all the way to redline (7200)

+1

My car (06) with just the aam spacer keeps gaining power all the way to redline. It could be the revup lower plenum or it might be those big a$$ turbo's i have

Trying to keep it on topic.

I have heard this several times now. And I have heard the exact opposite just as many times from as many people. Injected just posted 15HP on their TN vehicle with a spacer. Taurran and you didn't get anywhere close to that.

If FI spacer gains sometimes happen and sometimes don't, why is this the case?
And will the same performance variability exist with the Cosworth and or Revup plenum?

What other FI variables are there that would make it sometimes happen and sometime not? Mechanical? Tuning?
IDK

Its wierd.
