The Boost + Nitrous Thread
I've personally noticed that much of our community who partakes in drag racing is not running nitrous on their boosted setups. I'm really unsure as to why people aren't doing this, as nitrous is an excellent way to deliver a quick and relatively safe shot of power on top of boost alone.
Many of our current out of the box turbo kits run into limits of turbocharger flow at about 600-700whp on our 3.5l motor. Rather than being limited by turbocharger sizing, I'm curious to why more people haven't taken the next logical step by installing a nitrous setup which will allow them to increase power output without adding boost.
After all, look at other communities that are into drag racing. Large displacement domestics regularly run nitrous both naturally aspirated and on boosted setups to increase power and run much faster 1/4mi times. Imports running huge turbos use nitrous not only to decrease turbo lag but also to efficiently make greater peak power and torque.
Also, I notice there's more prevalent use of methanol injection on these forums. While I can see its use for street cars or road racing setups that run sustained high power boost. I don't believe it is as efficient for short bursts of sprayed power such as in drag racing situations.
So, for those of you who are already running nitrous setups on boost, please post your thoughts and also dyno graphs before and after. Also, lets discuss the mechanics of setting up a proper nitrous injection system on top of turbocharging or supercharging.
And remember, no complaining. Run what ya brung!!!

Craig you will probably find this hard to believe but I agree with you arguement 100 percent. However this a spin-off of the thread that I closed a few minutes ago. So I don't agree with you rehashing what was already locked. Ill open this thread when I open the other one.
I've thought about this but peak torque hits early in the powerband (370tq at 4K)so unless you have serious serious lag you'll either blow the block or spin tires like crazy, however on your setup running 25lbs the lag would be pretty significant(i think) and it would be benificial, I would be hesistant to run both a peak torque. if the built motor can handle it, it would be a monster. but I don't think it would be suitable for most

And what setup r u running? Anyways you know my input im down 4 it if u and ur car can handle it. People just hate what they cant afford or can handle. Like I said when I get my kit installed Ill be running a shot just bc I want more powa
hey i was on zex's website and they have a new turbo nitrous system for $700
check it out:

a little of the squeeze is a good thing. I wouldn't go with big boost and a big shot of nitrous though!
adding the juice is a nice way to increase power if you are running out of turbocharger (losing efficiency) it is alot cheaper than upgrading the turbos.

This is on a stock block for those who may not know....I could not be more pleased with my 35 shot on top of my APS TT. When I finally broke into the 11.xx I ran consistantly at 11.8 WITHOUT the spray. Then when I did spray the 35 shot I was consistantly running 11.5-11.6. I then, still again spraying the 35 shot just recently ran 11.3 on consecutive runs.
JT at PF just bumped up my spray to a 75 shot for my runs on Jan 13th and if all goes well we are going to bump it up to a 100 shot that day. Remember this is on C16 and my car loves the race gas. JT and I believe that after looking at my numbers yesterday I should be good with the 75 shot.
Craig..JT says your car is freaky fast by the way. Can't wait till you get to put down some times.

You and JT must be twins...you guys say the exact same things. I agree with you 100 %

Why not?? What's a 75 shot between boost and a built motor???

the motor in my car is still stock.
I have 2 more sitting in my shop though!!!
Ive been asking this for years, the community is slow, its conservative mmebers are its own worst enemy. More shops need to run Fi + N20, we need more Performance Factory like shops...Id rather have 600whp + 100 shot on a Greddy car than a big ST with a crappy powerband and no nitrous.
Wanted to add, Id like some shops input on what they consider a "big" shot to be on top of a built block plus basically maxing out a turbo kit. For example Id imagine a well tuned 100 shot on race gas + 18-19psi on a Greddy kit wouldnt be a problem for a built block, getting that insane TQ and power down is another issue, but that is neither here nor there.
