I take my stock plenum off anyway to change plugs. It makes it som much easier, and I don't have to worry about dropping any of the hard to reach bolts. It only take about 10 minutes to pull the upper and lower plenums.

Larry,

have you seen this intake manifold? It looks similar to the SSV, but with a different plenum and this one is aluminum (the SSV is stainless.) I keep seeing it on Ebay.

That actually looks like it might have more volume and flow better than the SSV. I wonder. The welds look beefier too.

I would at least consider that one because it does say "KINETIX" across it.... I can only imagine how embarrassing it would be to pop your hood to have that name spelled out in big letters across your plenum for everyone to see.

If the cosworth's ever come out lol..

KU Engineering actually make really nice stuff for being an "ebay" company. It's definitely light years ahead of the SSAutochromes and OBX's

wow that's some expensive shipping on that manifold

gotta wonder how strong it is if it's made out of aluminum with aluminum welds - no wonder the welds look heavy duty, it's aluminum

I also noticed it doesn't have a mounting bracket at the start of the manifold like the SSV has though I'm sure someone good at welding aluminum can weld one on. It'd be more hassle to add additional bungs to it than the SSV because of it being aluminum

curious if it weighs less than the SSV or if they had to make the aluminum really thick

looks like a nice design though, wish the SSV was more curvy like it

Here's my dyno sheets of the SSV and the aftermath of swapping to a Crawford Plenum. Dyno's where a few months apart. Both on Sharifs dyno.

After

Vizage, when I overlay your graphs (not that this is scientific being months apart, with the different DD software etc), you show that you got a power increase with the crawford but lost low end tq.

do you have aftermarket headers, cams, or any headwork done?
my hunch from looking at your sig is you're on the stock engine and stock exhaust manifolds right?

you're sure the SSV was the only thing changed between dynos?

one last thing, how do we know what gear sharif did your dynos in? Could it be possible he did the first one in 5th gear and the 2nd dyno was done in 4th gear where the turbo wouldn't spool up as early in the rpms as it would in 5th gear?
