if you want to be around here long enough.. yes you can look at my join date.. it is best that you don't argue with moderators.. if they tell you the sky is pink.. and you look out and its grey.. for all intesive purposes.. the sky is pink. On a web forum moderators are always right.. stop arguing with him.. cut your loses and move on.

I 100 percent agree with doug and his post. As all forum moderators will. Here's another piece of advice for you. Not all mods are as nice as JOHN aka USN so I suggest you tone down your post towards him. Consider this your last warning before you visit BAN Island. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter
I went ST for alot of the same reasons Synth did. Honestly, If I wanted a High HP monster I definitely would go the Vette route. IMHO 550+ in these cars is pushing the limit as far as drivability goes. ST's are different, there really aren't that many running around with built motors pushing the limits of them. Will I go TT?....maybe later on, but I'd like to see how this APS ST set-up goes first and how much I like it.
Honestly, If you're worried about the money....you probably shouldn't be doing it anyway.

phat04350z is about to be
I'm pretty happy with the power I'm making. I could go for more if I build the engine, but it's going to be a trade off between the car being harder to drive due to the extra throttle sensitivity. IMO I don't think that trade off is really worth the money involved
Low acceleration (under 80mph) probably won't really increase all that much, but above 80mph would. If you don't go above 80mph all the time every single time you drive the car, what's the point?

I always was told that a big old single gonna hit so much harder than twins. I wanted that and 400hp I thought would be enough. well its not but frankly the turbo kits not holding me back at this point, when I build it I honestly believe I can get mid 500 out of the aps kit , and that's more than enough. singles might be 'cheaper' but they are proving to work as well as twins but with a little more lag which is near nothing on a 3.5liter. I went with the aps because I saw that it had more potential. YES most twin kits can get to 550hp, but for a stock block setup a single will work and my shop warrenties the stock block, so the snapping rods argument was out.

when i first bought my Z.. it was a little too much for me.. i would slide the rear out every now and then going around corners.. if i was to tell you based on driving my Z for the first month how bad it was .. i would be telling you that 230whp is too much for the streets.
unless you own the car and you have been driving it for more than a month, you are not capable of making that assumption.. i'm sorry.
and your claim of driveablity is garbage.. my Z drives like stock now.. it was worse when i had 345whp with a UTEC

Regardless.. not being able to control 230whp and being able to control 550whp is due to getting used to the power and becoming a better driver.
Not a jab to anyone, but I went from the APS unichip to UTEC, absolutely no differences in how the car feels, responds, etc (I'm basing this on personal experience). I know the advantages of a stand alone, but I don't think it is necessary in my particular situation, especially since my tuner rocks!!!

Thats fine and I agree. Now bump it up to the 700 range and tell me how drivable on the street it is. IMO it's not as fun. EXTREMELY sensitive. Like I said the 550 range is fine and dandy, you're just getting up there to where it isn't as usable on the street and becomes dangerous to the avg. driver. Whether he's used to it or not.

my Emanage Blue was smoother than my UTEC ..

naturally with any car with High Horsepower you are going to be careful and adjust accordingly to control the power.. no one expects you to floor a 700 whp car.. you have to modulate your throttle.. just the same with 200 whp..
