Ive seen alot of threads that mention removing the 50mm bottleneck off of the greddy evo tt midpipe, but nothing really that describes the process. Will someone who has performed the removal please tell me how to do it
Thanks
Thanks
We've tried a few different methods, but we starting making this small SS extention tube in 2.75 inch, and flaring it out to 3 inch to mate up the typical 3 inch downpipes we are using with the TT kits. We tig weld the pieces together. If you are bolting up your EvoTT to a set of 2.5 inch test pipes, there is no need to do any modifications.

I opened the bottle neck on my Greddy EvoTT. Its very easy. Just take it to a muffler shop and have them put it on their pipe stretcher/expander. Takes 5 minutes and no welding necessary.Bring the 3" flange with you so they can get it perfect.
Or just buy one of the pieces from Sharif....

Very nice welds Sharif. Looks like you've got someone with skillz! Can't wait to see what your guys can do for me
.
CoachK - so you had the shop cut the existing flange off, then expand to 3", then weld the new 3" flange on? I guess that is one less weld... Do you have any pics of the end result by chance? I asked an exhaust shop and they said they could expand reasonably up to 1/4" using their expander. I was told going from 2.5" to 3" was going to be questionable. Did you expand to 2.75" or all the way up to 3"?

and he got it perfect. He told me that he would not stretch it any further than what he did, but it did match up perfectly with the 3" flange.Make sure if you go this route(expander) you bring it to someone with experience. I then welded the flange back on and its perfect.I'll have the car up on the lift this weekend and take some pics and send them to you.

Add it to my tab.
