Default 350z turbo readiness...

I have an almost stock 350z and my buddy has a cts-v that runs about 13.1 in the quarter stock. So i was thinking about installing turbo in Z to atleast keep up the pace.
What replacements do you think that the Z would have to have to in order to turbo it. Do you think the motor, clutch, and etc would hold up to it. Or would it be a big overhaul.

My main goal is to get my car atleast a bit of a jump on him. Dont think ill ever take him high end.... but if i can beat that beast of a car for a while it would put a smile on my face.

Or do you think that there are any other options to get me down below 13.1 without putting my engine in danger.

Jim wolf TT kit and 2.5" exhaust and a decent driver and you will take him in the quarter. Lots of guys bolt up a twin turbo kit to there stock set up and have no issues....but if you look above at the thread that says HOW TO DO TWINS RIGHT THE FIRST TIME you will find lots of good info.

Research some shops for tuning advise on FI thread...also if you do not want to "build" your bottom end properly I would get a Vortech S/C instead.

Yeah its not that i dont want to build up the bottom end... Its just that i wasnt sure if there was any other way of doin it. Or how much the stock engine was built up. Ill have to do some more research on it to see what it takes to run atleast 13 flat.

You could run low 13's without F/I...providing you are a GOOD driver for the main part.

Dude ever hear of the word research?
Go into the forced induction section and start to read all the interesting turbo threads.
Come back to this thread after you have read for about 50 total hours and you will tell us what YOU are planning on doing.

Oh and look at the price of the turbo kits and times it by about 2 to get it running.
