i just got a used turbonetics kit, the new kit and was used 3k miles, professionally installed and uninstalled, was supposed to ba a complete kit minus ems, and in perfect condition, i drove 4 hours to go get it at the shop who uninstalled it where it was stored when taked off the car. So im looking through things and realize no intercooler, no fuel pump, i say something and the guy says its barried in storage and he will send it to me, (the reputable shop said this) so i get home, thoroughly look through everything and find the pipe that connects to the wastegate is cracked in 2 places, i let the guy know who i got it from and he is supposed to be taking care of it and getting me my intercooler and fuel pump and new pipe that is cracked, so we will see if all goes well, but if not i will mention the names of seller and shop so nobody else deals with them. but like i said im letting the cards play out and hopefully it goes right, the seller says if the shop doesn't come up with the parts that he will buy me new ones to complete the kit. seems legit right? hope so
so as of now my opinion will stay to myself about buying new till this is resolved

I disagree with the OP. Buy a used kit but only from a reputable person. Ask a lot of questions and pics. Only people that rush into it get the worst of luck because they didnt research.

Speaking as someone who will be selling a used TN single kit soon, I think a lot has to do with the seller. IMO a seller with nothing to hide would have a ton of pics and I really like Spoils comment on labeling the parts for the buyer. I plan on having the kit uninstalled by a known Z mechanic and having him post in the sale thread that the kit was mechanically sound when removed and all parts were inventoried. Because of this, I would expect to get slightly more than some of the other used TN kits on the forum, but how much is piece of mind worth.
