So problem after problem leads to nightmare. While driving thru the rain this morning to Forged, water leaked in a grommet and got teh ECU/UTEC wet. Car went into limp mode. Got a gas station, dried it off and was able to get on the road only using teh stock ECU.
Got to Sharif, dried the UTEC and he did an awesome tune. Great #'s on a DD.
Then problems start again. During my drive south, my cog belt breaks. No biggie as I have another one. Get to my buddies and get ready to go out. Go to start the car and the ECU's start smoking!!!! Oh SH!!T.
So i can see brun traces on the UTEC on thru the slot where the dip switches are. Car stinks horribly.
Sooo, I unplugged the battery and I tried just plugging in the stock ECU. I have a slip and vdc light, but no CEL. And the fans come on. No start!!
So i think that the stock ECU got fried as well. This in on a G35, so can a nissan dealer put in a new ECU and reprogram it, or does that need to be done at an Infiniti dealer. If so, the closest one is 90 miles back in Atlanta, near Sharif. Anyone have any experience with an ECU swap. I know I need a new UTEC as well.
I am seriously bummed and dont know what to do.

i called the local nissan dealership and they said i have to take it to inifiniti
argh, i gotta wait a few hours for forged to open to see if i just need it towed there.
hopefully with a consult II you can check to see if the wiring harness is bad or the ecu is bad.
either way its going to be $$$
i dont have the dyno charts and Sharif's torque wasnt working. so i dont have all the #'s to post. only 396 hp on a DD

Hope you get it repaired soon.
a little off topic, but my UTEC is now for sale, if you end up needing one.
My car will ba at forged next week for removal.
sorry about your bad luck, I hope you dont need to buy another

well the title is in reference to the multiple people with the Si blowers that have had problems getting them tuned or whatnot.
the blower and engine are fine and the car is on a flatbed back to marietta and Forged.

Yeah the title is very misleading actually. Your problems have nothing at all to do with the Si trim. I had water get into my ignition system and blew 2 coils when it was raining like crazy a few weeks back. It had nothing to do with the SC. That's like me blaming my blown coils on my SC. One has nothing to do with the other.
i think we still have to give the Si-trim a fair chance! i am not counting it out yet...it appears nobody has posted some rock solid numbers yet, there is always some factor that skues the results. i am looking for some stock block base numbers to go by and hopefully i will provide that.

my #s were solid. Sharif said it was the fastest vortech he's driven. ive got a nice graph of air intake temps vs hp. you can see the AITs really spike. over 42 degrees C. Not critical during the winter but def might cause knock during the summer. Although, in my case AIT is much lower than graph bc of the alky injection. Sharif said thats probably why I have no knock.
2 maps. one full power one safer so if i run out of meth (camera phone pics, sorry)
ya the thread title is off, bc when i posted i was thinking off all the other extraneous issues everyone else has been having coincidently with the Si.
I cant edit the title myself.

42 C is considered high for air intake temps? That's around 107 degrees F
usually air intake temps are 20-25 degrees F higher than ambient
what was the ambient temp there when it was dynoing?
what psi?

what was your max boost during the dyno pulls? i was hitting 12 at 5500rpm, hope not to go over 13 at 6600rpm. man do i wish there were some tourqe number's on your graph. that's were i think the Si-trim will show some improvements over the Sc-trim. so far from what Sam has seen i think this will be the case... i was making 380 rear wheel tourqe at 5500rpm before the cog belt blew off with alot of timing pulled out and running very rich A/F's.

I'll make sure my grommet has no chance of getting water in it. I was nervous however that it was more bad news about the Si-trim specifically.
