I brought the noise up to Sharif and drove around with me, and he also asured it was normal. As you can see the motor is strong so no need to worry.
About that noise, my Z does the same thing I have the same pistons, its very very faint I'm just super **** to any noise I hear, I thought it was the cams JWT C2's now you mention the piston it might be. Car runs great so nothing to worry about. Enjoy.

There will be number this weekend bad or good there will be #.
Pros
track can give 2 $hits about saftey equipment so I can run 9's all day long with short and a tank top.
Track is very well prep
Cons
BFG's 275/35/18
MT ET street will not get to me till next month
Luie...with the kind of power you're putting down I would not recommend you going out there on anything but DR's or slicks. You're really taking a big chance if you run it all out. Whats another month in comparison to eating the wall. Not trying to be negative, just not a good idea.
Are the BFG's DR"s

Yeah! They are my Dr's witch I have pulled a best of 1.78 60 on. I just have a feeling they are going to break loose once I hit 4500 in first and second, I think they will hold in third with a good track prep.
Hell no on street tires, I would never even think about it!

I am getting these, becuase I have a big brake kit and have to run a 18" wheel.
They are the 305/35/18 27" tire FTW I belive they are new (a couple of months out on the market). Some of the turbo corvette guys that were at the Dyno Jet putting down 1200hp told me about them.

Yep that's the same tire I'm looking at getting... The sidewall is so small though - not sure it'll be that good for drag. I actually PM'd coachk about that setup a couple hours ago. Feel free to reply here coach

.The MT's will work just fine even in 35 series.Actually the BFG DR's in a 35 series will as well. With good track prep you will be ok, just heat them badboys up real good when doing your burnout.
I used the BFG DR"s 295/35/18 for a long time(and alot of passes) and cut 1.8 60' consistantly, running low 12's in my 5AT.I would even drive to and from the track on them,200miles round trip. I switched to the MT ET Street Radials because I went with a Weld 15" wheelto get some weight reduction.
