Well I'm making power to 6800RPM on my non revup motor with GTM turbo stage 1 cams and a stock revup lower plenum. I have JWT springs and retainers, but that for durability reving over 6600. I have no headwork. Anything more than that and your getting into diminishing returns for your money. The revup plenum costs me $50. If I were you I would just be happy making peak power at 6800RPM and call it a day unless you have a lot of funds.

So your saying not to worry about porting the heads and run stock valves with a upgradded cam. ANd that will be fine for 600whp I understand what your saying bum im wondering if I port the heads and do larger valves will it change the power curve higher and maybe higher in rev too?

Get some BC cams thats all you need to get you to 600. As far as making power to 7K, it all in your tuners hands. 8 months ago it could not be done, now it seems they figured it out??? So go figure
But def cams. BC cams are looking kick @ss if I were to do it again BC, JWT in that order.

Ok first off from what I hear the vq35 head flows well but It does show to fall off on top on a dyno. Im going to have my shop port the intake side along with the intake manifolds. ON the exhast side im goiing to have it ported and polished to keep carbon down.
Ok oN camshafts from what I see is the bc cams seem to work well. Any other out there do you recomend?
Ok Im going to also do upgradded vavle springs for a 7500-7800 rpm redline.
Ok Im also wondering if I should do Upgradded BC 1mm lager stainless steel valves . WIll it help make more power? Does anyone have any input on these items and the vavles.

what you going to do is what im doing now...
i have my cylinder heads ported and polished by Injected performance...
supertech dual springs
supertech Ti retainers
supertech 1 mm oversize vavles
BC stage 3 camshafts
and IP porting.....

See !600 whp is not always 600whp. Why do people fixate on HP numbers? 600 whp with a big fat power curve putting a lot of power down through the RPM range is different thatn one that's pretty flat and feels unimpresive while driving and will be slower. Stock cams won't give you power under the curve. If you want a dyno queen then run with stock cams to post a big number for your friends. If you want to go fast then cams are a must. It's the single best thing i did to my motor (besides the gredy).
Here's my dyno chart. you should be happy with results like these. No head wrok at all except JWT springs and retainers. You want more power? Up the boost. I would not invest in porting and polishing.
Do you know what 600whp is like? How are you going to put that power to the ground in FWD? I have 565 and it's unreal. I can hook up and put it to the ground as well. That's what you need to focus on is getting the car to hook up. It seems your searching for a number to impress people with. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yes your right Im not trying to make a dyno queen I want a nice power band and after 450 it will be hard to put it to the ground but will im building the last motor for this car before I move on to starting my 300z project I just wanted to have about 550 600whp maxima. But dont get me wrong the power band will be very inportant to me! But im also trying to do some things to make my top end not fall off and be better while im building. If you were building a motor in any car wouldnt you try to enprove the entire power band if possible while you were building! thanks for the info and im still listening if you have more.
