Default mrev2 on FI engines

Does the motordyne spacer and mrev2 lower plenum have any effect(increase in power) on an FI engine?

Works great for me!!! I have never been able to try it without it on, however.

think about it.....f1 is "FORCING" more air into the motor.....lower plenum/ported/polished will help air flow....better air flow stock or f1 it will help....depending on your power goals may not be needed.....

I have the Mrev+ and Spacer. Mrev+ basically shift the power band lower on a Revup Engine were you see power start to fall after 6000rpm. Now that I'm FI'ed my power also drop after 6000rpm, I'm going to remove it and swap back my stock Revup Lower Plenum and see if my power band changes. It is good on the street and daily driving coz the power band is shifted lower were you can use them but on a WOT it suck coz you basically have to shift at around 6300rpm instead of 7000rpm (Revup Engine)

I asked this question too but didn't receive that answer.

Now I'm definitely bringing my stock revup plenum to PF.

Why would you want to redline a stock block on FI.
Your stressing the motor more when hitting redline specially with FI.
I shift max 6600-6700RPM.

on my installation (revup engine with a vortech kit) i need as much tourqe in the mid range as possible. the mrev lower with 5/16 spacer worked out perfect for me . plus i do not want to rev my setup past 6600 rpm to keep stress levels down on the stock block and seeing 14 lbs of boost at that rpm level is pushing it as i see it already.

It's hard to believe, but I honestly don't think there's been a post that compared high boost non-revup vs. revup vs spacer vs MREV2 vs MREV2/spacer. I remember JET's post on going from non-revup to revup, but not sure he posted the non-revup dyno.

Well that is were I try shift (6500rpm) and even that I have lost HP already. Look at my graph, I wish I'm still making power at 6000rpm.

Default Upper RPM Power

I don't think the VQ engine produces linear power after ~6300 -6600 rpm. Ever Dyno that I have looked at shows a plateau or drop after that point. I don't thinl the MREV2 would have that much more of an effect on loss of up top power, maybe 5-10 hp. I do believe it could boost midrange tq by a significant amount if it amp the affect it has on NA engines. Just my opinion.

/\ I'm not sure about Mrev2 but it is a fact that Mrev+ and Spacer move the power band lower. Here's a dyno from way back then on a Revup Engine... You can see stock still make power past 6000rpm and Mrev dropped dramatically. I'm not saying Mrev+ is the main reason of the drop on my car coz I'm also not holding boost past 5500rpm. I'm just doing a process of elimination.

I rather sacrifice the little up top for the sanity of not pushing the block at the higher RPM's which I gain in midrange x 2 anyway.

It's not like you starving for power with FI so I don't understand the need for the extra RPM's at the sacrifice of the motor.

I was thinking the same thing a few months ago and was going to swap out my plenum for the Cosworth Plenum but there is only so much power that a stock block can handle and when you are right at the limit why push further.

/\ you are right and I have been going back and forth about this. It just drive me crazy when I do pulls in the freeway and I'm loosing top end power 5700rpm-6300rpm I feel that my car start to fall on its face after 6000rpm It's fun on the street though

I also installed your TestPipe and that chit is loud man!!! I have been driving it for 3 days and I want to switch back to my Stock Cat Not to mention I smell like chit after driving it for a while...lol

Sorry for the OT

One reason to shift towards the upper rpm band is to minimize the peaky midrange torque curve that breaks the tires loose - a steady torque curve is less likely to do that b/w gear shifts.
