Exclamation Turbonetics smoke

Alright so just got the car back like a week ago w the turbonetics single kit. Anyone have the same experience when u get on it, the turbo smokes up after ur done? Is this a usual experience with new turbos? And also of course the "pre-fire wrapped" ac line melted. It was pre-wrapped and my mechanic wrapped it even more, and still melted, any1 have any suggestions? I hope there is a way around this bc Im in az, and NEED the ac!!!!

how is your turbo cooled? and I would run a vented hood, because of turbo placement

Take it by Intense... They should be able to help you out with the A/C line, and any other issues you may have!

If you have smoke in the turbo, to me, that sounds like oil is getting into the exhaust housing!

IF, it is allowing enough oil into the exhaust housing to smoke... I would get it checked. That's just me. How many miles have you put on the kit? You might still be burning of some of the coating on the parts.

um maybe like 200 max miles. And if it was going in2 the exhaust housing, wouldnt smoke b coming out the back? which there really is none. Idk, i just took it down the street again and it feels soo good, it rips real well and sounds smooth, I just wanna b sure b4 I hurt her, ya know? Hear so many damn stories, any idea about the slight misfire? My mechanic thinks it may have something to do w the reflash and he's callin turbonetics first thing next week

I PERSONALLY don't like the re-flash. Some people have no problems with it, but I would make a UTEC or some other type of EMS your next purchase.

Just a personal suggestion.

Thx man, greddy evo 2 exhaust, I freakin love it, its not too loud and keeps a real nice deep rubbling sound. One of the biggest things is it doesnt stick out like a damn ricer, I hate when you get a nice exhaust thats hanging down farther that any part of the car and looks like its scrapin the ground, I like the nice clean look and it seemed to do just that!

Nice install!!! I just got mine installed a couple weeks ago... Did you happen to have your pipes wrapped with header wrap?? The very FIRST thing I noticed when I drove the car was that it SMOKED like CRAZY!!! Smoke was coming through the hood and the AC vents, but it was due to the header wrap melting and shaping onto the piping... And it smelled TERRIBLE! But it subsided after a week, I'd say... But I'd say its pretty normal to see smoke at first... Just make sure none of your hoses, wire harnesses are getting cooked. One of my O2 sensor wire harnesses got fried by the downpipe.

As far as the AC line, that was one thing that I wanted to make SURE that I didn't have melt on me... Since I'm in Florida, AC is ESSENTIAL!!! The shop (S&R in Tampa, FL) made a custom line and fire wrapped it... So far my AC is working PERFECT. I'm sure your local shop can figure out a custom line. If not, try giving my shop a call!
