I see that you guys are saying what you regret. Shouldn't you also list right under what you regret the part that you would have replaced it with, for example. this would be even more informational for people.

Any tips on what a 08 HR 350z should start with. As of right now I have nothing more done to my car than rear sway bar Nisimo (total loss of cash, same as stock) and AvicD3 head unit lol.

I want to start with my suspension first, and have no intention on going turbo till the car is paid off. For right now I like to do some suspension work and use my stock wheels as they look nice and save me money lol. So what I am asking in a nut shell any one can recommend where I can read up on building my suspension right. I will go FI with a 500whp goal but thats down the road.

Again I like to thank all you guys for chipping in like you do this is gold. Plus Alberto your YouTube videos of doing 160mph are being played nearly every day ;-)

I'm also very interested in this, I thought the pulleys were actually kind of dangerous to the motor.

Although I have never had a problem with the UR racing crank pulley in30K NA and TN miles. I decided to run stock when I did the Greddy twins. Now I am adding an ATI crank pulley. Take it for what its worth

lack of harmonic damper. I had crank damage (fractures in the first two cylinders of the crank) that was walking backwards from the front of the motor. Talked with my machine shop said they had seen it numerous times before. Underdrive pulleys have the capability to take out your oil pump and really cause some serious damage. Do some searching in this thread and you will see it is a pretty good consensus that underdrive crank pulleys are not a good idea for a boosted car.

I am even going one step further and instaling an ATI or fluidampr pulley

My bigest regret was not taking my car to the good tuner the first time. I took my car to VRT and got screwed for 20k plus. Pick a good shop wil save you some head ache.

+1000.

I have been planning on FI for a while and threads like these have shown I do not need the best of everything for the power I would like. The biggest thanks has to go to people like alberto and eaglegreen. Being able to learn from what they have dont has changed my build completly. Thank You for sharing everything for the better of the community.

Your welcome, its nice to read things like that.

Let me offer one more suggestion. For you guys who dont track your cars and are undecided about cams/mild headwork. Go drive a built set-up on a good EMS/tune with stock cams, then a similar car with cams. The difference between the two will be negligable power wise on pump gas, its just that the stock cam car will require 1-2psi more to reach equal numbers to the cam'd car-its a wash on the street for whp in the 500-600whp range IMO.

Reason I say this is because when I drove Jeremy@Forged's Greddy TT stock cam set-up on an FCON, it felt just as fast as my car with cams/valvetrain on a UTEC ($$$$). Had I driven a set-up like that I would have saved over $1500 in cams, valvetrain, install, and put it towards a better EMS, and you'll never have to deal with idle issues like some do!!!!

Would also like to say thank you again to Alberto and Louie for posting their experience and answering my personal questions helping me through the process. Great to have members like them in the community! Still debating on what standalone to go with next winter, i'm debating between Haltech, FCON, Autronic but I have plenty of time to do my research.

the summer of '08 is shaping up to be a big one for the community with the limits being pushed farther for our cars each day. . . I am looking forward to seeing what happens.
