Interest in custom intake for Vortech
New setup at bottem of this post.
I'm trying to gauge the interest there would be in me making a custom intake for the vortech that will make it much easier to take the filter on and off. It will be a cold air tube similar to the one found on the turbonetics st kit. The piping will be mandrel bent 3" piping that will then open into a 3.5" tube right before the charger inlet. A k & n filter will be used with the kit. There is absolutly NO need to modify anything inside of out of the engine bay for this intake to work. The filter will sit right ontop of the OEM bumper brace. A breather filter will also be included for the pcv valve. You will need to remove the front bumper to install it, but it is much easier to remove the bumper for install than taking off the charger itself. I can offer the tube and connector only, or and I can offer the tube, connector, breather filter for pcv, and a k & n filter. Here are some pictures of the origional setup.
Pricing will be:
$100 for the tube and connector
$125 for tube, connector, pcv breather filter, and k & n filter
New setup pics:
Let me know!

it will fit he Ghe same; you just need to cut a 3-4" hole in the front support to run the piping. you also need to carefully bend the A/C line out of the way.
It is not bad. I did it to make a 350Z turbonetics kit fit my G.

Any closeups of the visible bends? They look like they were done on the typical exhaust pipe bender (ie not smooth). I bought the parts to do this a while back but never got around to test fitting everything. Since your already fits, I may go that route. What filter (ie K&N part #) are you using? Also, ETA on availability?

GO to EBAY and buy the following items: 3.5" silicone 90 degree elbow, 12 inch 3.5" polished alum tube with 45 degree bend and K&N filter with 3.5" ID. Then get 3 duce clamps to tighting it all down. It cost me ~ $90.00. The filter ends up in front of driverside wheel in the wheelwell. I have ran this setup in poring down rain without any problems. It took ~ 1 hr to install.

First batch I made up this morning. They will come flat black piping, connector, pcv breather filter, and air filter. I will take a picture later tonight of what a full kit would look like.

Also we made another version "cold air" on my brotherz T-trim Z. Here is a picture of it. However it will not fit unless you remove your bumper brace (which is only really needed if you have a larger fmic like him and I do.)

Already thought about it and it wont work, or atleast look very good becasue the filter would be bent over due to the radiator sitting over as far as it does.
