Default Vortech GTM pulley belt size

I just placed an order for the GTM pulley. I will be running the 3.12 pulley with the new vortech belt routing layout. If you have this setup will the belt supplied with the GTM pulley be the right size, or will I need a different belt?

Which new layout?

This one?
https://my350z.com/forum/attachment....1&d=1185654312

I'm gonna go with a 3.12" pulley and the GTM pulley too, so when you find out, I'd also like to know.

That's the one. I called GTM and they could not answer my question. The belt that came with my kit is Gates K060795.

The last digits are the length (79.5"). With the napkin calculations I did, it seems that the reduced circumference of the 3.12 pulley from the 3.33 would somewhat offset the addition of the GTM pulley. Let me see if I can find those numbers for ya. . .(I have the same pulley/belt setup.)

Better yet:
Here's the new belt that Triji used with the GTM pulley (here) and "old" belt setup from vortech:
060935 (93.5")
Here's the belt listed in the Vortech Belt thread for the 3.33" pulley:
25-060935 aka the same 93.5" belt.

In summary: following my extremely simple logic, you should be able to use the a 79.5"er (ie the same belt that came with the original 3.33" pulley'd kit.)

Okay. . .using some really tacky "insult to engeineers everywhere" math, I've calcustimated the distance from the 3.12 pulley contact point to the middle idler pulley contact point to be 11.59 inches. I've calcustimated the added length needed to clear the GTM pulley to be 0.3 inches. So, give or take some slight error, add 0.5 inches to whatever length belt you'd use for the 3.12 pulley by itself. . . and use that for the the 3.12 + GTM. Oh wait. . .that's still the 79.5"er. What a waste of 5 minutes!

i know we are all smart in here, psychic no.

without your belt # or length, how do you really expect to get a proper answer?

belts come in 1/2" increments. why not order a1/2" shorter and a 1" shorter and return the one that is too short?

Napa can get the Gates belts in for ~$25 in a day.

^ i meant that above in a joking way. but really, measure your belt and get the next size smaller. Gates belts use their length in their part #. so if you dont know the part number, you can always just use a tape measure and go from there.

its really very simple. you can even take the belt to napa and they can measure it for you.

if you have a non-revup, it was the very old belt layout that used 93" belts. the revised layout uses 79.5" to start with.

Yep, they found one that it was somewhere around 80" to 90".

I've had the 79.5 belt on my car with the 2.87 and GTM pulley for close to 9 months now. I get no belt slip at all.
