Default I FAWKING HATE Innovate WB sensors

How many of you guys have had problems w/ this thing? I have gone through 2 sensors in the past 3,500 miles. I keep getting a Error 8 code and i have tried doing the reset and free air calibration and neither worked. I am about to toss this POS and get a new WB 02.

I thought Innovate WB's were supposed to be some of the best

I think I know the problem though... its your brakes and you need to swap with mine to diagnose this

Sorry to hear man

Do you think it's the Innovate unit itself or an issue with the placement of the o2 sensor? Have you been fouling it out, or running the car without the unit powered up? Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I've had 2 personally and I love them, Call Innovate and tell them whats up...They might have you ship them the unit, but either way they will take care of you.

the unit itself reads fine. But after a couple of thousand miles it seems the sensor goes bad. Not sure about the placement, but sharif installed it so it should be placed correctly.

What are you using to power the sensor? You want power ONLY when the car is actually running. If you power it too early (or with the car off) and there is no exhaust flow, it can heat up and then get "shocked" when cold water vapor in the exhaust hits it for the first time. If you don't power it at all sometimes or leave it off while the car is running for awhile, it can foul. I think I wired mine to the fuel pump relay. A typical problem situation would be wiring it to accessory power and parking somewhere listening to the radio. Car cools off but that sensor is HOT. Start up and boom, you'll kill the sensor. It needs to heat up at the same time the exhaust flow is heating up.

aahhhh, that might be the problem.

It is wired where the sensor and unit are turned on even when the key is in accessory position.

Well that will work as long as you don't leave the accessory power on without the car running.

Does ACC power cut out when starting the motor - I can't remember? It should definitely be hooked up to the IGN wire so that it only turns on when the key is in the ON position.

Yes it does - not the best for the sensor. Another reason I used the fuel pump relay circuit - it is on during cranking and while the motor is running (and only briefly even in the "ON" position). You can get to it using a fuse tap in the IPDM.

I am sorry, it is true. I even turn on all my neons and rev up my car so my exhaust can be heard by every person passing by.

i had e8 before and it was the o2 sensor itself that had failed. apparently innovates are bad for this. if you don't mind post in the other innovate thread that I did about your experience. I'm trying to compile everyones experiences and eventually hopefully someone from innovate will see

Were is your 02 tapped? rcdash's post does make sense but I'm not sure were Julian tapped mine but so far no problem and it is almost a year now. I don't sit in a parking lot with my keys "ON" so that could be also a reason I never had a problem..Yet...

haha blasian was joking, i DONT sit around parking lots w/ my key on.

The sensor is tapped on the driver side down pipe about 3-4 inches before the flange that bolts to the exhaust.
