Default 2004 G35 Vortech S/C tuned dyno numbers (PICS)

so i put in my votech the other weekend and cruised around on it until i could get it dyno tuned. Thanks to Tim at Speed Force Racing we got it tuned and found some unsuspecting horse power figures.

my first run on the previous owners SS box tune was 383 whp and my a/f's were around the 10.1 range. Tim leaned it out a bit and kept it conservative for me and leaned it no leaner than 11.1 and retarded the timing a few more degrees for me to keep it somewhat safe.

final results were 405.3 WHP and around 348 tq. this is on 91 octane pump gas.
my mods are,
- stillen TD exhaust
- motordyne plenum spacer
- vortech with what we think is a 3.12 pulley (still using FMU and fuel pump. stock injectors) but getting a surprisingly high boost at redline.

now, i bought it thinking it was the 3.12 pulley and even had the 3.12 pulley sized belt, after the first run, we were thinking it was actually a 2.87 pulley. but not totally sure. im seeing 10 psi at redline. not sure how high i should be seeing if it were really a 3.12 pulley. its possible i have the 3.12 pulley and different cog set up. that may be why im seeing 10 psi. i was expecting 8 psi max. your thoughts?....

heres the dyno sheets!
the black curves are the first run. this was using the previous owners tune he had on the ss box for the 3.12 pulley. and the red lines are my final results after tweaking the tune that was on there already.

as you can see, i gained nearly 130whp in the midrange from Tim tuning it properly.
I would definitely recommend Tim at Speed Force Racing to tune your car. he knows what hes doing, extremely well. thanks for all your help Tim!

Nice !

You should go ahead and take it to redline on the dyno instead of stopping at 6250rpm's . Might have gotten 11.5psiout of it

Nice!

You can just measure the diameter of the the pulley to determine what it is. That's what I had to do when I got my used kit

thats hitting rev limiter actually. graph just doesnt say what rpm its at. its some weird increment on the chart. but rev limiter is what, 6700 rpms?

We couldn't get a good tach signal so we did gear ratio and the rpms were off a little.

Count the teeth on both of your cog pulleys and measure your pulley. You could have a 3.12 with a 34 tooth cog pulley. There are some guys out there swapping non rev up cog pulleys with rev ups. Anyway, it sounds like a perfect amount of power and boost for a stock block, I hope I'm near that number next week!

i'll go count the cog pulleys. thanks for the responses! im a little nervous making 10 psi of boost at redline on 91 octane. i think i'll put a gallon on race gas in for every half tank or so of 91 i put in. hopefully that will make things a bit safer. its a lot more HP than i was expecting. i wonder what it'll make when i put headers and test pipes in........

i just checked my pullies, the pulley is the 3.12 pulley. and cog set up is 32/28 tooth set up. i guess my stock headers and cats are just making it build more boost.

maybe i just have a good motor. i remember racing my friend 6mt 335i bmw and it was neck and neck. and racing other g35s and winning with less mods. maybe mine reacts better than others. idk. strange phenomenon. i was expecting no more than 360 whp with those stock cats and headers.
i'll post pics of my car and engine bay as soon as i get a chance.

thanks for the positive responses! i really put a lot of time into installing the clutch/flywheel/ supercharger in one day. glad it all worked out well.
