Luie,
I think what this comes down to is you are scared that my car is still faster than yours... j/k
There comes a point for all of us when we are ready to move on to our next project. But the one thing I would ask you is "did you accomplish everything you wanted to do with the car?" if not then is it really time to move on? You will never get your money back that you invested so when you are at the point of frustration is it worth starting all over again on a new platform, or sticking with it a little longer and get out of the car what you hoped for. Once you have done that, move on to your next challenge!
We all modify these cars for a reason and most of that is because we are not satisfied with STOCK. So if you are looking at a 997, GTR, Z06, EVO, whatever... will you be happy with a more expensive stock car that performs as well as your modified Z? My guess is no, and it is only a matter of time before the cycle starts all over again with buying parts to make your car unique and better than everyone else that drives the same thing.

I can see Luie in 3 years posting on Vette, Porsche, Viper forums saying how he wishes he wouldnt have spent $100K on a build and had left it stock. Luie you are worse than me, you run out of mods to do and your journey feels like it ended. I never once became bored with my car at 525whp, Im a simple guy

Cant compare stock to your beast, and by the time you get the same beast feeling in another car that your Z delivers, well you know.

If you can afford it, I would go the modded 911 turbo route. I know a few guys making around 500awhp on a stock block. You can probably get a used 996 or 997, dump around 15-20k in her, and have an awesome beast - with AWD
European cars are just so much nicer in every aspect, I wish I would have gone that route in the beginning, but I think most of us never thought about the amount of money we dumped into our cars.

i was watching some vids on youtube the other day where a porsche tuning company upgraded the stock 997 TT to twin 30Rs, made 800+whp on a stock motor, it was an amazing car.

I have driven a stock 996tt, power wise its weak sauce, handling is great, stops good.
I also drove a 997TT with some "AWE tunning" 530hp, and that thing was sick! I just could not get it out of control, 100% traction....well 90%. Handling.... puts my Z to shame not even in the same ball park, hell different game. This makes me think what a GTR would feel like with 550hp????

I agree, Stock 911TT compared to your Z is not even close power wise, but you can get some good power with out opening up the block, that is the best part.
There are a ton for sale our here in cali if you start looking for one...
