Default Koyo Radiator With Vortech.

I have been searching for a couple of hours now but i have not found the info i need to start my cooling system mod. with the vortech s/c system installed what is the max thickness that can be run on the radiator? i would like to install the koyo 53mm rad with some slim line fans but is this possible and what fans would provide the clearance i need? if not i was looking at the 36mm koyo and if i go this route can i still use the factory fans and shroud and still have enough clearance for the supercharger supply piping. or even with the 36mm should i go with 14" SPAL fans for even greater cooling ability! so many choices.

iStan was saying that his 52mm AMS rad + FAL fan setup was thinner overall then the stock rad and fan shroud. So basically if you run a thinner fan/shroud setup you should be good.

I'm also considering a rad upgrade in the future with my Vortech. Sorry if this is well known, but when switching to slim fans, can you tap into the existing wiring for the control? Or do you need to buy fans with a temp sensor switch on them? I would like to stick with the stock fans so I can simply just drop the radiator in and go. But that stock fans sure are bulky.

Fan Wiring
General Cooling Thread

Paul, you know my setup fits

Actually, looking into it, I'm an idiot. It's a 50mm AMS Radiator. Everything I read said 50mm (2"), I must have put the two together to get my '52mm' AMS radiator.

So i would venture to say the 53mm koyo rad would not be a problem with the FAL fans. right?

Should not be a problem. I think Len just ordered the 36mm Mishimoto.

Jet I wish I new which Koyo I went with for my Vortech setup. It was the slimmer one but I used my factory fans and shroud. Did have to dremmel it a little for the piping clearance.

I cannot see how the 53mm and stock fan setup would fit. It was pretty snug as is with my stock radiator and fan.

With the 36mm and the stock, I could see a little trimming being required, but it shouldn't be a problem.

With the AMS 50mm and the FAL Fans, I'm actually thinner than stock.
