Default Fuel pump relay?

My tuner said that I shuld upgrade electircal wiring to fuel pump relay and from ther to as close to the pump as possible. Gaining aprox 30% more flow, he said. So he want me to do it before I come. I don't know where the relay is. Can any one point out where in manual I can read about it?

Drop a walbro 255 in your fuel basket and thats all you need to do you have to modify your fuel basket for the larger pump but it is easier than it sounds took me 35 min to install. Thats all you need I have never heard of upgrading wires.

The fuel pump relay is in the IPDM behind the battery.

Got one of those and the AAM fuel return. This guy is probably the best tuner in Sweden and he has tested this out on Japanese cars incl Nissan. He found as low as 10V at pump w/ OEM wiring and a large gain in HP w/ new wires. I just don't know where to find the relay

Found the relay in manual, but it's no easy operation... not possible to remove. So now I need to find out what wire controlling the pump and most of all where to access it IF it is possible.

If you really think that the wiring may be an issue - you can take the output from the fuel pump relay (at the bottom of the IPDM) and use a quick tap or solder another 12 gauge wire and hook it up in parallel with the existing wire. Then run it back through the firewall and along the passenger side.

It is an interesting point to consider. What is the amp draw of the Walbro 255 pump? Around 10 amps at 50 psi? That's 140 watts. The recommended gauge wiring would be 10 ga (for a single cable) for a run of 10 feet I believe. Stock wiring is probably 14 or 16 gauge.

Yupp that's intesting. This tuner hasn't done any VQ35TT's since it's, as I know of, only 2 in Sweden. But he did a lot of other japs, incl Skylines and they got this issue. So we really dont know if the 350z suffer form this and as you point out, it shuldn't be. If it's no big deal to rewire then at least no harm is done. I'll be looking int to this today. Thanks for your help
