Good motor build - don't sleeve it or stroke it....
Good FI setup
Good installer
Good tuner and EMS
Proper exhaust
Proper Clutch

Give her hell

If you are planning to install it on a stock block, than for starters...you need the following:

1) .6 Bar Wastegate springs X2 so your base boost will be about 5-6psi, instead of 12-13psi
2) Good EMS: UTEC, Haltech, FCON
3) Nice free flowing true dual exhaust system: Greddy EvoTT or APS 3 inch TD
4) Boost controller if you decide to raise the boost
5) Some gauges are a nice add on...boost, wideband AF at a minimum.

That said, if you have no plans to build up the engine, then you might want to choose a faster spooling, smaller TT kit, like the Greddy, JWT, or reg APS.

Let us know if you need any help.

Where are you in NC? Are you going to ZdayZ? Try to catch a ride in a car with that kit (and compare to several others) if you will be attending ZdayZ. Beyond the basic recipe, there are a lot of options with regards to specific parts. You're welcome to drop by for a ride after ZdayZ (on the road till then)...

Thanx for all the suggestions so far. I'm currently in Iraq but I'm from Fayetteville. I'm just looking for a way to spend all that combat pay im getting, and ive heard good things about the APS kit but APS themselves were no help they say the kit is designed as a stock bolt on but i didn't think that sounded too safe, anymore suggestions feel free to post.

i really wish i could go to Z days

people may disagree with me, but I strongly recommend on stock block. this i s the only thing that makes sense, financially and just generally. get use to the new power (350-400whp is plenty, at first) and beat on that motor to death, literally. Hopefully you can run 20k on the stock block, at least.. and then build... if you're lucky, you maybe able to run 30-40k on the built block. Not to be pessimistic, but The probibility of this scenerio is great in the life of FI. Maintenance is the key!

Make Eagle an offer on his car and sell yours, that will save you a lot of the frustration of going FI.

if properly setup and tuned, the APS kit is perfect for a stock block... keeping the power levels at around 375. I would not make the jump to the extreme kit unless you plan on a big build. the base APS kit will make over 600 whp on a build, which is plenty of power.

Sounds normal for APS. I suggest doing a lot more research on the subject, F/I, and all kits available. A lot of your questions have been answered. If you are sold on the APS kit Sharif@Forged answer your question for basic supporting mods for the kit. Good luck & come home safe!!!

They said it was is designed as a stock bolt on; which it is... what more do they need to say? If he has specifics, contact any APS dealer and they would be more than willing to discuss pricing, install, tune, hp numbers, and more.

the APS dealers I would call are GRD, Injected Performance, or MRC

wat im looking for in the TT kit is something that'll give me decent power now, and when i do a complete rebuild i don't want to have to buy a new TT kit. so what im saying is yea im pretty much sold on the aps kit and what im asking for is suggestion on parts for the engine (everything short of a rebuild) so my stock block can handle it til i have to come back to the middle east.

just run SUPER low boost and your stock engine should be fine.....

i dont recommend doing any sort of TT build without fully building the motor though...its just a quick way for something to break and spending more money to fix it...

do it right the first time
