Thumbs up In The Works...

On this special day, my '04 ZR was introduced to The Man......Im talking about none other than Sam at GTM!

After years of lurking in the forums, learning as much as I could and becoming comfortable with the finances, I finally took the plunge.

The build is going to be totally unique and as excited as I am, I can tell that Sam is really into it as well.

Here's a little teaser: It's JDM goodness and newness + CARB on a bigger scale. Any guesses?

Have at 'er Sam and let the transformation begin!

<-- Driving into GTM

<-- Driving out of GTM (in about 6 weeks)

Glad you took it to GTM, Sam is a really honest hardworking guy

Very close....great guess!
It's going to be a 4.0L stroker with modified HKS Supercharger. The engine is going to be fully built with Stage 3 head work and GTM cam. Going with the F-Con V PRO. Staying with 600 cc injectors for smog reasons.

We went with the 4.0L instead of the 4.2 because it isnt that much less displacement and he wont have to sleeve it. It's primarily a street car/DD with occasional track and AC use. He has never done this set-up and Im psyched to see how it turns out. I know there are guys out there that are bigger and badder (I saw George's orange monster on the rack ) but this is going to be my own little California approved monster.

Yep, 6MT and '04 Non-RevUp

HP? My goal is to join the 500 rwhp club. With the way the HKS has been performing (nearly 400 rwhp on an auto with modifications) and with all the engine work that is being done, I really think it could be over that. Sam was adamant that we put as much work as possible into the engine to let it do the work and then have the HKS as icing. I will be happy however it turns out cuz I know its going to feel awesome and I dont have to worry about the po-po.

Cost.....ummm let's not go there. The sad thing is it would have been way cheaper if I didnt live in Cali. I would have just gone with a built engine and Greddy or APS twins.

Can someone tell me how to quote multiple responses so I can answer questions more easily. Im still such a noob with posting.

Copy & Paste into a Word document, and then copy paste into your reply.... OR.... have two screens open.

It will be nice to see the results from a variety of setups of the GT SC. From out of the box stock, to upgrade pulley and built engine. Nice to see a fellow m/t opt for the HKS SC, I know Sam's been looking forward to putting one on one.

agreed....what's the status on your car. Weren't you waiting for a special harness or did it come in?

It was great to have the prelim info on the first couple of cars that Sam did before I pulled the trigger on mine. Im so glad the HKS SC came out when it did.
