It's a well known fact MOST of AAM's TD exhausts fit like crap.

Who at AAM stopped answering your PM's?

Do you really think a bolt on exhaust should take an expert to install?

I've never heard of something like that before. ever.

bolt on = bolt on.

I have their single and when I first installed it, it touched the exhaust cutout on the rear bumper. I tried to move the hanger a little bit and fab up a little mount so it sits more down and towards the center. But then again, hope you don't mind me mentioning, but Eric has the same exhaust and his sits nicely with no modifications...

Just for chits and giggles you guys should swap exhaust, I bet you his exhaust would fit your car just fine and your exhaust wouldn't fit his car right.

I think the whole point here is that a $1000 plus exhaust should be spot on. You shouldn't have to fab a mount up or pay an exhaust guru to put it on. It just pipes guys and pipes are pipes. They don't mysteriously contort depending on who's installing them. You don't ever hear of anyone complaining about the Greddy Evo or the HKS Ti or even the X02.

Secondly, I want to point out that I was/am sponsored by AAM. Mike gave me a small break on parts and tuning including the exhaust(it was still expensive). I'll say for the record that most of AAM's parts are really really nice. They definitely have some of the best CNC machines and Fred and Alex are super good at what they do.

It is well known that not all of the older exhausts fit properly. When mine was made, they didn't have a jig for the G35 so they just modified a 350Z exhaust. This was the case for all of the older G35 exhausts. Obviously that didn't work to well so now they have a jig. The exhaust does sound really good. The fit is junk though.

I have a g35 and I will say yes the exhaust no doubt has its own sound a very deep tone and it is a full three inch exhaust but the fitmet was not ideal....I have too readjust heat wrap so the exhaust doesn't bounce of the other metal pieces...as far as how the exhaust exits the rear bumper, yes the bumper had too be cut....this could be because the shear size of the exhaust or poor fitment....but definitely my favorite exhaust if fitment wasnt an issue

3" is a lot smaller then most exhaust tips on the market, there's no reason to not have it fit unless the tips are designed to shoot pumpkins.

I have an Invidia exhaust, with my body kit, its very tight but not touching. with the stock bumper, there's zero clearance issues.

Am I sponsored? Yes. Am I standing up in this thread b/c of that? No. Why am I responding? Because I feel this is the best sounding exhaust on the market.

I did read a lot about the exhaust fitment issue from the AAM exhaust. I think Alberto had a thread or a post about it. I believe the newer batch does not have the issue anymore though. But that's beyond the talking point. The issue here is customer service and not really the product.

this is not the first time someone has said that the AAM exhausts (I guess 'some of them') have fitment problems.

AAM exhausts do sound great. But that's due to the Vibrant components they use, not anything special AAM does in their fabrication process.

Sooooo....you respond to a thread and a member who is having fitment issues JUST b/c you think it sounds good? Thats pretty hilarious.

Like it's been said before...AAM exhausts have been KNOWN to fit like garbage in the past.

APS FTMFW...if you have to have 3 inch.

Customer Service........whats that?

just go ahead and dump that AAM exhaust and get the APS 3" . i'd rather spend another 1k on exhaust instead of going through all this headache .
