Oil viscosity is definitely important when it comes to turbochargers.I think it might be a little more critical with our system and the SP system since we use sumps and pumps.

I am bored so i figured i would bump my thread to provide some evidence to my argument of me being able to make +600whp with the setup i have posted:

https://my350z.com/forum/shop-builds/370525-jzurita-s-build-nightmare-that-became-a-dream-590whp-93-octane.html

Highlights to the linked thread:
- 2.75" exhaust is used
- 2.5" downpipes are used
- wastegate dumps are not used (i could be wrong though)
- This is done on 93 octane

So I just read 8 pages of everyone posting the same useless info. First, people he obviously has the 2.5in exhaust for a reason, prob cause a 3in is gonna be insainly loud. Once you get into FI all the exhaust power is made in the DP. The catback then only becomes worht like 10whp, litterally. So do you guys really think hes gonna notice the differences between 550whp and 560whp??? Either way the car is gonna be stupid fast. Chris'smax you should look into maybe trying to run 3in dp with that exhaust if it will bolt up. On my suby i used to run 3in DP on stock catback which was a 2.5in.

Jason333's exhaust was retarded loud... he's running 2.75 now and its a LOT quieter. Well worth it IMO.

Thanks man

Yea i inquired about the 3" down pipes but it seems that they don't even make them for this kit. Tim (the designer and fabricator for SFR) felt that they were not needed with the kit. So i guess it really isn't a option unless i want to ge custom down pipes made at a later date and time.

I don't know how many of you guys were at Zdayz, but if you were i am sure you guys saw a black 06 Z that was SMOKING ITS *** OFF. If you did, then that was my car . I immediatley knew that i had been pw3nd by my turbonetics turbos. Luckily i was w/ my Drunk for a friend (Jason333) who was a customer of Jeremy Tibbs @Performance Factory and was able to introduce me to him. After talking to JT for a while and getting him drunk on cheap whiskey i decided to let him take my car back w/ him to Orlando to see exactly what the deal was. So after inspecting the turbos jeremy dicovers they are leaking oil from both sides of the turbos. Initially i think this will be a cheap ordeal since they are covered under TN warranty, well boy was i wrong. Instead of going in to get a oil burning issue resolved, i am coming out w/ a whole new setup! Jeremy baited me (this could be a lie) with the idea of going w/ a built motor since he had a built motor just sitting there for his car before deciding to go another route. After contemplating it i decided to go for it since i would more than likely have to have the motor pulled anyways to fix the turbos and he made the price almost to good to pass up.

The new setup will consist of the following:

SFR TT KIT (TN t3/t4 60-1 turbos)
2.5" down pipes
Tial 38mm wastegates w/ dump tubes
HKS Knock off Exhaust (Ebay special baby!!)
JE Performance Factory Spec Pistons (8.8:1)
Pauter Rods
Arp 1/2" headstuds
HKS headgasket
JWT C8R cams
JWT valve springs
FCON VPRO
HKS EVC6
CJM Stage 1 fuel return
Dwerk 850cc injectors
walboro Fuel pump

I don't want to start projecting what kind of power this thing will make, but i am going to try and take it to the edge (20+psi) on race gas. I am looking for at least 600whp . Finally i will be able to put these laggy *** turbos to use. Hopefully we will see in the next few weeks
*Pauter Rods why woudlent u get eagle rods and save ur self money
