Instead of tapping your plenum you might want to think about a throttle spacer. I did and it works great. http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model...ne&prodid=2414

I would drill and tap for each line you run into your manifold, don't use T fittings and hook multiple lines to a single bung.

throttle spacer looks like a good choice, give you 3 extra lines, plug those that arent needed. Its a little costlier than buying a tap, but if you dont have a drill and drill bits, I think the throttle spacer would be the best option.

Powerlab makes a really cool vacuum distribution block. I would have one of those, but I already had the AAM throttle body spacer w/ 3 ports.

Is that like an external manifold to provide multiple ports to tap off of?

I did the same exact thing on my car (tapped location and manifold location) and it works great. I made my vacuum manifold out of some extruded -10 fuel rail though from Ross Maching Racing.

That's funny. My first vacuum manifold, I made from Fuel Rail stock, too.
I was running a manual boost controller at the time, and this manifold was for feeding the side ports of my wastegates. (I am running -4AN preassembled nitrous lines as my vacuum lines to the wastegates.)

we usually just tap the upper plenum on the back side of it. clean and effective.
