Couldn't hurt, although with low mounted turbos I wouldn't consider them a necessity like I do with the TN kit. Heres mine:

its a PTP if you were wondering, $117

Usually seen on bigger turbos. The tiny little Greddy's might be difficult to get a good fit.

I made a set using material and wire from summit.com's site. bout $80 for the supplies. I'm also wrapping my complete exhaust system in thermal/header wrap and cuddling all wires/pipes/etc... in heat barrier and shield. Overkill but I do not want to get under a fkn car again after this recent rebuild.

I took a look around and did you get this from Project PTP? If so was it the universal size? I have seen on a few sites that they have different sized blankets for diff turbos...but nothing for the T60-1

From their ebay store, PTPDirect is their username I believe. They are pretty much universal sizing, their T3/T4 version fits the T60-1 from turbonetics great. In fact they say it will fit up to a T66.

On a side note I got it two days after ordering, and they are in Texas. Great service.

Where can you find them for $100? On their website they're $150, and the best I've seen for real boostlogic blankets are on some groupbuys (on other sites) for around $125.

Where in Texas I want it for my 850 bb. The trubos are real close to the starter...I would really feel better with a shield like this.

I ALWAYS thought that the turbos needed to disappate heat, and things around the turbo, ac lines, etc should be heat wrapped.....blankets on turbos bake the turbo?

no??

its actually better..keeps the turbine side hotter..better exhaust velocity.(faster spool)

Right. It's better for performance, spool, and components surrounding the turbo. One downside to the blanket is it tends to make the turbo run hotter and if it's not water cooled may shorten seal life, especially if the oil return is routed less than perfect.
