A little update on our green 350Z for anyone who cares...
A few weeks ago we ventured up to Maryland International Raceway for Battle of the Imports. It was a hot day but a great time, and it was nice getting to meet some of the 350z guys there. We finished 1st place in the Street Tuner class. Here is video of the final round:

Last week NOPI announced they are canceling the remaining races for 2008.
Friday we took the Injected Performance green monster to US41 (between Indy and Chicago) for some no-times grudge racing at Street Car Chaos. We went primarily to do some testing and shake down the car. On our first full run of the night we went 8.9@158 on a very soft launch, followed by an 8.9 @ 158 again on a soft launch. Here is a video of one of the second 8 second pass, verse a bumper-standing bottle-fed Mustang.

what sort of 60' are you seeing there? i know you said soft, but soft on that car =\ soft on most cars. just wondering. sick passes too, really impressive that it goes right down the middle, doesnt look like much wiggle at all
Hi Hal... I was wondering what the green machine was up to recently. Congratulations on the quick runs. Bummer that NOPI closed down. I didn't expect that.
I'm curious why you use a PowerGlide and not a TurboHydro in your Z? I don't know much about racing automatics, but it seems like a fairly heavy car like your Z would be faster with a three speed than a two speed.
My only thought is that a two speed could keep the turbo spooled up better than a three speed, but I would still think the mechanical advantage of the three speed would win out. Obviously that is not the case, or you would have one.
Just wondering...

JB, the torque multiplication of that loose convertor in the green machine makes up for the lack of a 3rd gear.
