Ok ok! Here is an update, keeping it real with the 350z theme, it was time to do the window switches. I got home from work today and I was excited to find my 350z trim pieces came in, thanks tonester1011!

Here are the window trim pieces side by side, brand new S14 trim pieces (had to buy new ones because finding ones where the screw hole in the handle is in one piece is damn near impossible to find used) on the left, used painted blue 350z trim pieces on the right:

First things first, get the blue paint off (sorry tonester1011), did this using aircraft stripper, dont get this chit on your skin it burns!:

Spray it on:

Let it sit for a minute till it starts peeling up:

Size: 125.1 KB

Wash it off, and the result:

Now to cross the two I have to cut out the stock cut outs in the S14 switch trim and replace them with the 350z cut outs, using my handy dremel and a diamond cutting blade all the while being careful to retain the stock mounting points for the new window switches:

After some cutting:

Whats left over after the mayhem:

Got out my new favorite glue, gorilla glue fast dry:

Glued the new pieces in place, clamped them with some vice grips to let dry:

After drying:

Excess dried glue trimmed away:

Got out the bondo and the sandpaper and went to work smoothing them together and the result:

Size: 28.9 KB

Got out the black texture paint to add the stock look back:

Plugged the switches back in and here you have the finished product:

Powerlab single Turbo is one hell of a kit, however it has 3" everything and is a VERY TIGHT fit in the 350Z, unless you have more room to work with in the 240, you shouldn't even think about it.

Is that blood I see on you finger?!

"This car was build with blood, sweat, and tears!"

Where'd you get the "aircraft remover?" That looks like good stuff! And I must say, I'd better get me some gorilla glue quick dry! Even though my project is like 1/1000th scale of yours, you've still motivated me to crank it up a notch!

BAM!

Ha thats an unrelated to the window switch mod injury, but its still an injury I got removing the stock core support on the car none the less. You can get aircraft remover from the local auto zone or auto parts dealer, you can get it in a spray can or a gallon tin in the auto body section

Im impressed with the innovation, the craftsmanship, and frankly stunned at finding an s15 front clip in that condition.

What's your profession dude?

At 23 I'm pretty impressed with what you can do. Don't know if you mentioned it, but hopefully you're taking this to the next level and making it a career.

I see another Chip Foose, or Boyd Codington.

I am flattered to be compared to such greats. Right now I am a fire sprinkler fitter / inspector, my dad and I have a company together. I would love to do this as a career because it is my passion, but unfortunately in my location its not a place where I can have stedy business. I like doing what I do but if I could drop it all tomorrow and do this for a living I would do it in a heartbeat. So would my dad, but what we do right now pays the bills till we can dip into something else. Who knows maybe the completion of this car will get my name out there, and some doors will open up for me. Till then Im gonna keep on busting my *** to get this car done so I can drive it lol.
