Forged Performance: 3 Podium Finishes at Redline Time Attack In Nashville
I wanted to post this in the FI section, to showcase some of the things we are doing with our built and tuned forced induction cars.
Most of you know that we do a fair amount of HPDE and track day events throughout the year. We have decided to step it up and compete in the Redline Time Attack series.
We are really pleased with the results, given this was our first attendance at a Time Attack event, and my first time driving the car at the Nashville Super Speedway. Despite running without most of my power steering (rack is shot), we still managed to put the Forged Performance 350Z into second place in the Modified RWD class, and second place in Unlimted RWD Class. Our 350Z produced the 5th fastest time of the weekend, out of 28 competitors. We were off by about a second in the Modifed Class, and 2 seconds in Unlimited. The BC Racing car took first place, so congratulations to that team.
The setup this weekend, was just 10psi, and WG spring pressure with 450whp. Car weight is 3100lbs with full tank of fuel, and no driver. Currently, the car is running our S1 Shortblock, GTM Heads, JWT S2 camshafts, and tuned with Haltech.
We also entered the Forged Performance/RobiSpec Evo that we recently built. Running a 2.3 stroker kit, and 500whp pump gas power, Robert Fuller hustled the car to a spectaular 1:09 lap. I forgot to mention, that the Evo's suspension package consisted of some springs, a rear sway, and REAL street tires, full weight.
Forged Performance and RobiSpec are working on some exciting projects...so stay tuned for some really cool stuff!
Here are the final results from the weekend:
Modified RWD
1) BC Racing G35 1:08.418
2) Forged Performance 1:09.467
3) Vision Performance 240sx 1:11.12
4) John Devet's Porsche GT3 1:11.918
Unlimted RWD
1) BC Racing G35 1:07.20
2) Forged Performance 350Z: 1:09.30
And most importantly, I want to thank our Sponsors and our staff that help make all of this happen:
Stop Tech
Mackin Industries aka Volk Wheels
Jim Wolf Technology
Carbonetic
RobiSpec
Sandy, Chris, Dylan, Ryan, Patrick, Tony, Jacob,
