New toy installing this week...
So the CAMP2 unit needs no power? Confused! I need to RTFM but I had just taken it that cause there were 2 power leads (one with a 12v lighter end and one that would splice in) you need to use them!
Well happy if I dont need to tap in!

I believe the OBD attachment that it comes w/ is already mated w/ power. If you have a car that the OBD is not direct plug and play then you would splice out the separate power., hence the alternate 12v sources that are supplied.

So basically I guess you can't switch maps w/ the camp2... its a little misleading on another HKS blog I ran across....
"As for the Camp 2 you cannot change any F-CON V Pro setting. It is for viewing only. Below is the extract:
F-CON mode
* The input value and/or the output value of each F-CON sensor can be monitored.
* F-CON S / SZ / SA / iS setting data can be monitored and edited when connected to CAMP2.
Unique settings can be made based on engine specification, such as exhaust type or intake type. (Data for F-CON V Pro cannot be edited.)
There are some items cannot be monitored depending on F-CON model and/or installed sensors.
I don't know of anyone successfully being able to do anything positive with the V-PRO unless you have the licence dongle to map it correctly. We will occasionally purchase one online to see if anyone has cracked it and they always are a waist of money. Best bet is to call Jim at Tunehouse in Sydney or Hanson in Perth for your tuning needs. Try www.hks.com.au..."
So does editing mean "map switching". I know sharif commented on XKR's build that it was not possible, just curious as to exactly why. Why does it even need to be plugged into the fcon then ?....
I was looking at the navigator's connection to the fcon tonight and they basically both plug into the same option port...so its either one or the other, -pretty lame hks functionallity

^ +1 I was not very happy with HKS when I found out about this as well, supposedly they are working on fixing this issue. As it is now you can go to your different maps, but it doesn't do anything when you try to select the ones you want to use. Ghey.
I'll let you guys know once/if they fix it.

Odd, I think that should work, double check the wiring make sure one of the plugs isn't flipped, easy mistake to do. I was going to do the same thing and just use my navigator to switch maps in the meantime.

I'll check again...I think its a RJ-11 or RJ 12 cable. I like the camp though cause I can view the A/F on the screen since I can't read the knock amp in the daylight - this helps alot....But you need the camp plugged in to the vpro read it though...
The next vpro update should allow for the map switching via the CAMP2. When that update is released is anyone's guess.
I, for one, am not buying a CAMP2 setup until the map switching is available with the vpro.
