some things are better keep simple... dont sleeve it unless you are truly going beyond 800-900whp(way more the std aps kit ceiling)....also darton sleeves are not for "anybody" to machine, ... get solid pistons and rods... L19s and HKS gasket are your "extras" for added safety over L17s and stock gasket.
IT will be more important that you get a quality standalone EMS .

if you do insist on sleeves, send the block to one of the Darton machine shops, one is Cali and another in the midwest somewhere, from personal experience I wish I had

Is it because usually the installation is not done correctly? Or why else are sleeves not recommended?

My issue was bad initial installation.

For others it is probably costs and belief that sleeves are not needed for the power, some say they run hotter but my coolant temps have not gone over 100 C on the hot and humid South Florida days, normally between 80-90 C but I have not taken it on the track
