Fuel is only one part of the equation when it comes to tuning, and adjustments may be made in other areas such as ignition timing.

If you've modified the kit at all, it's recommended to go with a tunable EMS (the reflash was programmed for a stock vehicle with the kit), but always verify the reflash tune by running on the dyno.

Yeah. I stand somewhat corrected as there is indication that the MAF can detect boost (any postive air pressure) as my car did freak out and go into limp mode whilst racing a SVT Cobra on a freeway prior to me getting the EU.

None-the-less, the ECU wasn't capable, as it seemed, to pull enough timing to prevent the detonation. The biggest factor for me, as I'm sure with other people, is having an EMS that can scale the fuel needed to prevent detonation while keeping the timing relatively the same.

As evidence of this, I used to go to a gas station and fill-up on 110 octane to prevent detonation when I knew I was gonna go out and have some fun. Fuel was the biggest factor.

FYI the water cooling lines are in no way required to safely run that turbo, that's why the kit isn't sold with them. You can run it all day with just the oil cooled bearing housing despite having the ports and channels for water cooling, it's just there for added peice of mind and overall longevity of the turbo.

Whether you choose to add the water lines or not is your own choice, perhaps you didn't tell him you wanted to spend the extra money on the lines and fittings before the car went in.
That is correct I ran my kit without ever using the water lines. I do have the wet bearing housing but I'm too lazy to do it....

It's not required by any means. Maybe you assumed he'd spend your money and tack water lines onto your bill. For all we'd know you'd be complaining about him doing that as well.

Yeah, when I was having problems with my install I talked to ed and reggie @ turbonetics and got nothing but great customer service, but as stated before, just make sure everything is heat wrapped and you will be fine. Had my kit for 4,500 miles no problems so far.
good luck OP

The only problem I have had with the TN kit is the AC line. They should be longer. I rapped the hell out of mine and it lasted about 2 months at least summer is almost over. This winter when I'm going to build my bottom end I plan on getting a custom line made to take care of the problem.. Other than that I like the kit..
