Did turbonetics ever fix the problems with their ST kit?
I heard they had a ton of problems with the a/c lines being melted and ruined and problems with overheating. Did turbonetics ever fix the kit so it no longer has these problems? help me out im trying to find out what turbo/SC kit to buy
It's all in the installation. You'll burn various lines on other turbo kits if its not routed properly.
That being said, I'm counting down the seconds until the sales teams for various other kits hit up your threads.

I think TN now sends a longer AC line so that you can route it away from the hot pipes.....I could be wrong, but that;s what I heard. As Taurran said, more prep work on the install is the biggest reason for an install holding up. If you can heat wrap it, do it!!!
when I had a TN kit, I bought alot of extra thermal wrap and used almost all of it. for example, on the TN AC line, I removed the thermal sleeve that TN put on the ac line. I then wrapped it in thermo-tec wrap. then, I slid the TN sleeve back on over the thermotec wrap.

If you wrap the A/C with extra wrap you will be fine. It worked for me that being said we are actually working on a new a/c line which is longer and better but once the testing is complete they will be ready to go. Rule of thumb it's always a good idea to have additional heat wrap for any installation. Quad pointed out some good tips to wrap the parts above also.

Just for clarity's sake, GTM used what they (and I'm sure others) called 'fire wrap'.
From what I remember, it is the material used to wrap fire fighting hoses because, when you think about it, you don't want a fire to burn through a hose behind the fighters (or anywhere) cuz you can't put the fire out, lol.
So ask for fire wrap just in case even though it should be synonimous with 'heat wrap'.

Contact Vinny @ Vinny Ten Racing he can do the install and anything else you need. The shop is in West Babylon ( LI ) and he knows the VQ and the TN kit very well. Let him know I sent ya and he can help with any additional tuning you need.
As far as the ECU Reflash I have ran it with no problem but having a piggy back can also help and do additional fine tuning. Ask Vinny what he recommends and he can do the tuning.

Anyway, do NOT use header wrap to wrap an AC line. It won't work. Go with the aforementioned fire wrap/sheath or even a second layer of cool tube extreme. Your AC won't have any issues with these in place.

fFor the record, i didnt buy the kit yet im doing research too find out what the best option is for me lol. you guys are helping out a ton and the shop in west babylon is like a town over from me so thanks for letting me know about it. Everyone is really helping me out alot though and im probably gonna go with the turbonetics kit. the aps single turbo is garbage form what i hear and the powerlabs kit is out of my price range by about 3k lol from what i understand that kit has alot of room for upgrading later on but i doubt im gonna try to squeeze that much more out of my engine the turbonetics kit will most likely suit my needs for the most part.

You can use osiris to tune an engine with FI? Did you have to have one of the guys from uprev do it or did they just send you the engine map to upload like they do for N/A engines?

Anyone know what the best route for me to take so my car will still be reliable everyday?
I wouldn't recommend the reflash personally as I was detonating under moderate to heavy load. Fuel input based on rpm is not sufficient as the ECU can't detect boost or know what to do with it.
My case might be different as I only have access to 91 octane but where you are, you might be able to get 93 or higher?
If you have a few extra hundred to spend like I did, purchase a Greddy E-Manage Ultimate (which is what I use). They are pretty cheap yet reliable and good at what they do which is tune cars that aren't making huge numbers or need to be 100% customised in regards to the EMS taking over nearly all the functions of the car (complete stand alone). I got mine with the harness for about $400. You might also be interested in getting a 'patch' harness so you don't need to physically hack into the stock Z's wiring harness. All you ned to do is plug the wires in.
