i was wondering if the octane rating {if there is one} on LNG was high enough to power an F/I Z? i guess the real question is can you convert from gasoline to LNG? it is not something i want to do. i just wanted to know if it could be done.

 

Pure methane which usually constitutes about ~90% of natural gas, has on octane of roughly 130. Natural gas's octane can vary quite a lot however depending on the local mix and have a rating as low as ~105. LNG is usually a much more expensive route to take, I would say all the alternate fuel conversions I see are to CNG. I haven't myself seen any high HP builds for CNG or LNG although they would probably have similar results to E85 conversions.
