George/Sam,

I'd be interested in seeing some dynos of cars running your built tranny. I was pushing a little over 600 before and would like to stay in that range long term. I'm still in the air as to whether I keep this car or abandon the platform. If Mark would get off his **** and send me his tranny I'd put it to the test too. There are not enough 5ATs making huge power and I was hoping to lead the 5AT RWHP pack going for a 700+ tune. Never drove an AT with power before and I actaully kinda like it. The gearing seems to me better to keep from spinning tires when getting on it.

I'll post updates along the way. The good news is that with street tires, low boost, and apparently a stock trans, I ran 12.5 easily with tuning issues that shut down the ECU for almost a full second each run. This encourages me that with a properly built trans and now that the tuning is fixed I should see some really good times. I'm going to run a baseline first then throw the slicks on a few weeks later and push her to 22psi! I've never gotten a good dyno run with high boost, due to transmission issues (I can't imagine why).

This is not the kind of news I like to hear...I have been up to SGP 3 times this months....and Mark is over there working his azz off....not making any excuses for him....He is starting to get cars out of his shop....

Is there ANYWAY that you think he could have sent you the wrong transmission??? IF there is something I can do to help you with this PM me.I will be in town until May.

Like I said before ....I really hate to hear things like this.

Well, they wrote "SRD" on the transmission, as you can see in this picture. When it broke and we shipped it to Chris in LV to rebuild it, it still has "SRD" in permanent marker exactly like this. If there is any way you can get Mark's ear and have him call me, that would be awesome. I can't get through to him anymore.

I'm not taking a chance Marshall. I discussed with Han today about having my trans torn down and inspected. He is waiting to hear back from Chris about your trans and intends to discuss my trans with him. I am leary though of that douchebag Canadian being anywhere near my trans. Unfortunately, all of this puts my chances of my G being ready for HIN on March 14th in serious jeopardy.

I think it is a good idea to check the trans. What can we do to verify that they did the proper work on the motor as well?

I take it you had some sort of tiff with Canadian. I haven't had any problems with him and he was the one that referred me to this builder.

Here is the thread of the original build on this car:

We are about to tune a built DE motor with a "SGP built tranny" to see how it does.

Angry

Just curious isn't this an SGP update thread?

Don't ever let em tell ya that they're not opportunistic...

Not directly pointing this at anyone but, if it strikes a nerve then maybe it applies.

GL(no pun intended).....did you open it up to look just in case?
IF you do have a fully build tranny as advertised it would be nice to see what i handles... we know what Marshall's tranny did handled a good amount of boost with just TQ upgrade

Well the tranny shifts VERY softly. I thought it would shift really hard but it seemed spongy feeling. We were going to send it into the guys at SGP but couldnt contact anyone there for a few weeks. I left a good handful of messages and sent the same amount of emails. It definitely had a VB and a different TC. The clutch packs looked different from stock but had more play in them.
