Default i want a tn kit but.....

my z has 70 k on it now. i searched for threads with z's with high milage but found none. dont flame me if u find one cuz i dont really care. if u dont wanna read the same thread over again jus click out instead of flaming. imo 70000 isnt too high of milage for forced induction if i stay around 400 hp. im jus curious of some other z owners opinion on this subject

just do a compression test and leak down test and that will determine how healthy your motor is.

you wont damage the engine cuz of the mileage but with a shitty tune and/or wrong parts such as small injectors or wrong plugs.

Pretty sure I read a similar thread a while back and Sharif dropped in and said that the VQ is just getting broken in at 50K+ and that F/I at that milage is a non-issue. If Sharif says it, it must be true.

i went FI at 55,000......15,000 more mile won't even make a difference esp. if you took care of the engine (prop oil changes etc.)

I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage as long as the engine has been properly maintained.

Also look into a Powerlab turbo kit vs. Turbonetics, I am sure once you do the research the choice will be clear (Powerlab).

Boosted at 50k, now at 73k with no real issues. Use a reputable shop and tuner and quality parts and you will have a fairly reliable setup.

I have a TN kit that was installed around the 40,000 mile mark, I think. I currently have over 80,000 miles on the car and it still pulls strong as hell. I do admit to being curious on having a compression test done but I am worried to see what it says despite how my car peroforms. Considering that it performs very well, I use that rationale as to not have a test done.

In addition, my Z isn't a daily driver despite the mileage suggesting otherwise.

I too have a TN kit that I put on @ 34K miles, PF tuned @ 37K and now have over 54K no probs. If I were you though I'd seriously consider a PowerLab kit. I wish it had been out back when I bought mine

i have 97 thousand on my car and by the time i would have enough money for a tn kit it would prob. have around 115 thousand. i really want to eventually get one, but the milage seems too high. what do yall think?

Mileage is relative to maintenance ... a poorly maintained car is garbage, irregardless of mileage. A well maintained car is nice, irregardless of mileage
