Great post, Sharif...

I always wondered how much difference those intercoolers made. I have to say that I'm very surprised to see drops that high on a stationary vehicle.

And all that heat loss is from the natural heat exchanging effect of the radiating fins and the engine fans sucking air through the intercooler?

Will do, I think I will give them a call on monday. I have been wanting one of these bad, but I just couldn't look myself in the mirror if I paid $399 for it, or whatever insanity the shops are asking.

Ah here we go..

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...es/davtron.php

The model number seems to be 307fd. $245 is better, but still not "good"

I have read that an IC core acts first and foremost as a heatsink and secondarily as a heat exchanger. Once the IC core becomes heatsoaked, airflow is required for effective heat exchange. Until then, it's the cold metal absorbing heat out of the air...

Yeah....because of the Camp2, Fcon and other things in that area there will be tons of wires.

The difference is the 307fd model "airplane" and the 308 is "automotive".

Not sure if there's a difference (mayeb sensor length) but they do make an automotive specific one. You should still call and see about the 308.

Wow I have not seen one of those gauges in years. They were pretty popular about ten years ago. Hasn't changed a bit in ten years either!! LOL

Always worked perfectly though!! Gives you good info about your IC and air temps!!

That's awesome. Makes me happy to know my IC is working well.
Even at idle sitting in the garage I have felt each side and the temp difference is huge.

^ ha ha. Seriously George.

Sharif is demonstrating his implementation of a GTM branded product that works well! What's with the other products being listed? How about a little gratitude to the vendor(s) taking the time to show it off?

Since Sharif inadvertantly didn't put the link in (as far as I could see), here it is: CLICK HERE FOR THE ONE AND ONLY GTM INTERCOOLER TEMP GAUGE!

Oh and it's not even $20 you'll be saving trying to find it somewhere else - click the link for the price.

EDIT: Sharif, you need to get it on your website! I looked, didn't see it there - apologies if I missed it...

I like these forums, the vendors and sponsors on these forums is what pays for the upkeep. I want to save a buck as much as the next guy, but if I can get a fair price from a vendor, even if its a little more, I rather give them the business than some other internet company that has no contributions to this forum.

Good example, I just bought some seats from Adam@Z1 (thanks again Adam) I am sure I could have got them somewhere else, if I spent the time to look for a place that ****** out Cobra seats, but I rather just call up a forum sponsor, place my order, and be done - as long as the price is fair who cares about a few bucks that will make their way back to the forum anyway?

Anyways thats just my opinion, sorry for the OT.

-George

Sorry Off topic....XKR - did Sharif get the Camp2 to hold the dif fuel map ?...Back on topic.....nice GTM sensor/meter. If my interior already didn't look like the millenium falcon I'd be down.

The last time I spoke to him he said that I still have to use the NavPro to switch maps So display is all for now If I understood correctly what he said...you can use the Camp2 to see what my you are in though.

Raj.... thats correct.....GTM only charges a few bucks more....I just noticed that. I thought it was over $300

Oh snap... did you lower the price GTM? I could swear on my ********* that the price was quite a bit higher before?

Your logic is solid George, and believe me I do support a lot of the vendors on this site - just check my itrader or ask Forged, Z1, thmotorsports... I could go on. But I refuse to nutswing on any vendor here like some others do, and dont try to deny it, and if I can save $50 (or $20) by going with someone else you better believe I'm going to drink (in alcoholic form) the difference. Its almost like you take it personal by the tone of your posts, if there can be such a thing, and I dont know why. I'm sure your bottomline will be fine regardless.

There will always be the guys who will follow the cheapest price, for better or worse

There will always be the guys who are shop/vendor loyal regardless of price, for better or worse

It is what it is.

Not taking it personal at all, just sharing my opinion that is it. Like you said, it is what it is.
