****! 25k boosted miles is verrry impressive!
i know of some guy with evo who managed to break his transmission within the same year he bought the car! (not because of mis-shifts or crappy shifting)

there is nothing particularly special about a T56

flat shifting any trans. is going to lead to premature wear and tear - no matter what car it's on or what gear set it's on

Yes (on the long gears), but for what you'd spend to have a plain jane t56 custom installed in your car, you could have a custom gearset made for the Z trans with whatever ratios you want.

As for gear strength...definitely not. I haven't heard of anyone actually breaking a gear in the 350z trans. Sure third gear has the issue of the engagement ring separating from the main gear, but the gear itself doesn't break.

My third gear just went out the same way. Did you get the stronger 3rd gear? How is it?

Should be ordering a 3rd and 4th (why not?) from PAR in Australia later this week. I'll post up with experiences when we put my trans back together.

That's cool! Do you mind PMing me the price of the 3rd gear? Also, what's their turn around time?
