i know of some guy with evo who managed to break his transmission within the same year he bought the car! (not because of mis-shifts or crappy shifting)
what about the 370z gear do you think guys it would handle more abuse or not ?
also just throwing an idea spoke with GTM before maybe 8 months or so about converting to t56 and they told me its could be done but it wouldn't be easy ....

Yes (on the long gears), but for what you'd spend to have a plain jane t56 custom installed in your car, you could have a custom gearset made for the Z trans with whatever ratios you want.
As for gear strength...definitely not. I haven't heard of anyone actually breaking a gear in the 350z trans. Sure third gear has the issue of the engagement ring separating from the main gear, but the gear itself doesn't break.
