LOL j/k
3.5L / Sleeved / Arias ED pistons (9:1) / Pauter Rods / HKS HG / 1/2" headstuds / Evans NPG, not coolant / BC 3 cams / JWT valvetrain / Haltech EM / 8000rpm redline, usually shift at 7500rpm's.
605whp @ 13psi ran 95% of the time on pump gas / 650whp+ @ 16+ psi ran rarely - 5% of time on pump + 100% meth.
Approx 3500 miles, NO issues thus far, no oil consumption, no coolant pushing through. Will report back later, oil analysis #1 on this motor looks good.

Build #1:
-----------
3.5L Non-Sleeved Block / Cosworth 8.8:1 Pistons / Eagle Rods / Stock DE headgaskets / L19 Head Studs / ARP Mains / Cosworth Heads / JWT C2 Cams / FCon / Regular Coolant / Greddy TT / AAM downpipes & APS 3" open dump exhaust / AAM fuel system single pump - 93 oct & 100% meth
652whp DD at 18psi on Forged Perf dyno... However I think this number was inflated at the time due to unknown reasons. I went back and re-dynoed it 3 months later and it did 585whp but has a torn intercooler hose at the same boost psi. Either way is was probably more like 600whp.
Engine failed due to a steam pocket that developed around #4cyl at the top of the block. I had a very slow leak from the throttle body coolant line that I didn't notice and had air in the system. Blew it up running it at max power. Heads never lifted and the damage was limited to the block, even the iron OEM cyl liner was undamaged. The bottom layer of the head gasket got torched and the other 2 were untouched. Basically plasma torched a hole right out the side of the block about the size of your pinky finger. Motor lasted ruffly 8000 miles and about 60% were all run at max power with methanol.

Build #2
-------------
3.8L Sleeved Block (from Sharif's old motor) / 100mm Arias ED 9:1 Pistons / Eagle Rods / Cometic 100mm bore headgaskets / L19 Head Studs / ARP Mains / Cosworth Heads / JWT C2 Cams / FCon / Regular Coolant / Greddy TT / AAM downpipes & Greddy EVO TT recirculated wastegate exahaust / AAM fuel system single pump - 93 oct & 100% meth
Dynoed right about the 600whp DD @ 18psi mark on Forged Perf Dyno, however within 1200 miles the heads started to lift on max power and deteriorated to lifting even on wastegate spring at 430whp. Never did determine exactly what happened to the motor but the heads were lifting between each cyl. I do know that when my machine shop received the block they determined that it did not need to be re surfaced on the deck since it was with in 0.0005" flatness which was well within factory spec. I think it was a combination of imporperly installed sleeves, 100mm bore, and the L19 studs...

Build #3
-----------------
3.5L Non-Sleeved Block / Arias ED 9:1 Pistons / Eagle Rods / Stock HR headgaskets / Stock HR head gaskets / ARP Mains / Cosworth Heads / JWT C2 Cams / FCon / Evans Coolant / Greddy TT with 20g upgrade / AAM downpipes & Greddy EVO TT recirculated wastegate exahaust / AAM fuel system single pump - 93 oct & 100% meth
626whp DD @ 19psi on both Forged Perf and Modified's dyno (GA and IN). so this number is verified and I have had zero issues with this build to date taht are related to the motor. Almost 9000 miles all run at max power. I think the keys to success with this build were switching to the HR parts and Evans Coolant. Only thing I am not sure of is how far can we push the HR head bolts? I think there is more left there, but at this point in time I am not interested in making more power, I need to make this power hook before I think about more... So this next year I will be spending my money on suspension, cage, slicks, axels, etc... But for those guys that are looking to build reliable 600whp DD range power I think this is the way to go. How much further this will go? I will let one of you guys figure that out... for now...

I think you're thinking of this whole "miles that a built motor will last" the wrong way.
Most people don't daily drive built motor 350Zs, therefore the miles that they do drive them are typically very abusive. Weekend drives, drag racing, lapping days. The chance for something to go wrong is multiplied many times when pushing lots of power though even a motor that can handle it very frequently. Just look at Jkenefic's first blown motor. It was due to a steam pocket in the coolant. Nothing to do with how well the motor was built or if that parts could handle the power.
If I was just daily driving my Z back and forth from work in traffic. I wouldn't be able to stretch it's legs much and thus I would put much less stress on the drivetrain. I have no doubt that I could take the motor 30K miles easily.
The fact is I beat the living **** out of my car every time I get in it. So my miles are much different than most of the stock or bolt-on 350Zs that are daily driven.
Just some food for thought....

To add to my other post, it's going to be very hard to find people with 30-40K continuous miles because people tweak and change their setups so often. Plenty of people have taken out their motors and put in different ones even though the first motor was just fine...

I agree..another few weeks and the G will be parked for just about the next 3 months.....argh

I'll be ready to go in the spring though!!!
Would love to check out your G sometime...I used to hang around SP a bit when the first got into the Z...but not since they got serious about it.

Non sleeved motor
Eagle Rods
HKS HG
PF Pistons
.5" studs
JWT C2 cams
15.5 psi
6k miles
No problems so far. A lot of my miles are from various trips (Zdayz going to forged / PF etc).

Phase One: Built Motor and APS-TT Installed 2006, total mileage 15K miles
410rwhp @ 12psi, Unichip APS-TT 3.5L / Non-Sleeved / STD Arias pistons (8.5:1), .020 over / Pauter Rods / Stock Nissan HG / ARP hardware / water cooled / stock cams / stock valvetrain / APS TallBoy / APS 2.5 Delete pipes / Koyo radiator / Motul 15W-50
Phase Two: Upgrades/Service in 2008, mileage so far +3K miles (+18K miles total for built-motor and heads/HG)
465rwhp @ 13psi, FCON APS-TT / L19 headstud upgrade (without removing heads or Stock HG) / BC Stage-II cams with BC valvetrain / EVANS NPG / Exedy-Twin Disc installed / Compression & Leakdown / Open bumper install / Stillen Oil Cooler / Spal Fan Upgrade / ATI Dampner / CJ Stage-I Fuel Return / HKS 1000cc injectors / APS 3.5 Delete Pipes / Greddy EVOTT / GTM Reflash /
Daily Driven, 15-30 miles each weekday. Approx +18K miles total on the life of the built motor short block and heads overall, NO issues thus far, no oil consumption, no coolant pushing through. Upgraded to L19 studs during cam install over the summer. The heads were not removed, the studs were replaced one at a time and torqued to the higher specs.
The Compression check varied between 120-130 and leakdown was 3-5% after 15K miles.
