Jesse-
Make sure the clamps aren't hitting the hood. I had to turn mine a certain way to keep them from hitting.

I looked at my bypass valve today, and it does pivot in the middle so it shouldn't matter which way it goes.

Ohh, one more thing!!! I went looking through my box of leftover parts. Besides several nuts and bolts, I have a vacuum line with a T on the end of it. I can't figure out where in the hell it's supposed to go. There's one line from the bypass to the manifold. and one from the manifold to the FMU. Where does this other one go? I'm kind of assuming it's for boost gauge, but not sure. If it's not needed for now, I'm going to use it to extend the length of the FMU line because I'd like it to be a bit longer for easier access to the FMU.

Hey Ed, gald to hear you are enjoying your "new" Z

To answer your questions...

1) The drain plug is on the bottom of the SC unit. You kind of have to reach down with your left hand from the front and feel under there for it. Probably the best way to get to it to drain the oil would be to put the front of the car up on jackstands and put about 20 inches worth of extension on your ratchet to get to it from under the car. You will also want to have a funnel with a tube on it to keep from getting oil all over everything underneath the SC. Like you said, it's a tight fit in there

2) The filler hole is right on top of the unit. You'll see a flathead screw. Take that out and there will be a dipstick attached to it. Thats where you put the new oil in.

That's what I did to extend the line to the fmu....

So, where did you guys get your plugs from? The only plugs I can find locally are the PLFR6A-11 at $16 a piece. Plus they're platinum which is not as good as the copper ones.

Well, I found some the LFR6A-11 plugs at a local Yamaha boat dealer. It's the same engine that's used in the Yamaha 115HP 4 stroke outboard motor, model number F115AETL. They're not going to get here until Friday though, so I can't drive my car on boost until then.

Thanks Spencer! And thanks once again for all of the pictures! Too bad I missed you when I picked the car up on Saturday. Take a look at the video you made here and there is also a new one I made as well.

Copper is the best conductor of electricity and will provide the best spark under increased atmospheric pressure. Platinum is not as good a conductor and with increased boost it provides inferior plug arc.
