I have the JWT with Twin Stillen Oil Coolers....I have mine just below "H" ...7QT's ...and smoking is not an issue....or maybe I am going too fast to see smoke

While reading the first post this is what I was thinking as well. The pump pick up hasn't changed and yet one runs the oil level at a minimum? Boosted or not you would still have a minimum amount of oil. Maybe I'm missing something here. I am in the middle of a ST build and I purposly tapped my upper oil pan higher than my max. oil level, so that the turbo drains properly.

I think the smoking issue people refer to is specifically for the APS-TT kits only. Here is the link to the notice from the APS website which should help answer your other questions:
