APS TT & Oil Level Question

I have the JWT with Twin Stillen Oil Coolers....I have mine just below "H" ...7QT's ...and smoking is not an issue....or maybe I am going too fast to see smoke
Not to hijack, I have an APS ST, been running approx 5.25 quarts/oil (at/just below "L") Is this only an issue of smoking that people have had with this filling to "H", and is it an issue of the turbo/s draining back into the pan? Reason I ask is if the pan is deeper, wouldn't the engine require increased oil, given the dipstick hasn't changed depth? I guess my question is, why wouldn't I want to increase the volume? Thanks, just trying to understand
