Thumbs down Help HKS Twinpower DLI II popping

Hey all,

I just installed the HKS DLI II on my car, and it sounds like it is miss firing and making loud popping noises. I also smells hella rich also. Could it be that I potentially installed this wrong? I have it grounded to a part of the engine. I looked for instructions can't find any but the install is fairly easy? The red light is on showing that it is on.

I would say that it is certainly hooked up incorrectly. Popping would be misfiring... and you are smelling unburnt fuel.

The connectors on the driver side are easy to confuse if the numbers are gone and you pulled everything off at once. Just double check everything.

and it doesn't need to be.... you can basically hook any plug into it. You need to make sure each output is correct to each bank based on the oem input to it

Went back and checked it out, fix the problem, and the CEL light is on now but the car runs hella strong. How do I turn the CEL light off?

It help everything. Just trying to figure out how to turn off the CEL. How do I reset my ECU?

I would recommend this ignigtion to anyone FI. I mean you can feel it in the idle, acceleration, and everything. I mean I ran it a few times down the street and it is the truth. I have to figure out how to turn of the CEL or reset my ecu so I can run my map correctly without the ecu running in safe mode.

Why are you guys getting spark blowout? Have you checked your plug gap?

There are people on here running a lot of boost on the stock ignition with no problems at all (myself included, at 30 psi no spark issues).

Just wondering who is having these issues?

+1 Intense has been making big power (906whp on the widebody shop G and 1,014whp on mazoo's twin GT37R widebody Z) with the stock ignition.

I was thinking of getting the HKS DLI II, but Intense and Jason Siebels with ProEFI recommended against it. They said it is totally unnecessary and that the stock ignition works just fine.

Hmmmm so all the 4 figure power cars are on the stock ignition (SP is too) ......I know I've never had an issue. And I'm only 1 step colder than stock on the plugs, but gapped a little bit down. Not too much though.
