Default JWT oil level question

Guys, Have a question for the boost gurus. I have a JWT 530 kit and it has always run fine. Car is at stock boost level and the boost is steady at 7 psi. Car feels off this morning, not sure why. I have no smoke, AF reads in the 11s. The only thing I can think of is that I recently filled up the oil to the second factory mark, and it hasn't felt quite normal since then. Is it possible that I'm getting some oil cavitation in the crankcase that may be affecting power? and if so has anyone ever experience blow-by on a JWT kit? Reason I ask is I have seen some oil (very small amount) in my intake tube in the past. I guess it could be bad gas...but thought I would see if anyone had something similar happen.

There is an extra quart of capacity AND the oil pick up is spaced lower so filling all the way to the "high" mark may not be necessary and in fact may lead to decreased oil return flow. I keep mine in the middle. It is possible to have oil spew through the turbo seals if crankcase pressure increases, oil return gets blocked, or the turbo seals go bad.

Now would that decrease power to the point that you'd notice it - esp with no smoking? I'd think not likely.

I don't run the JWT SS box, so I'm not sure what it does if it detects the stock ECU retarding timing from knock (due to low octane fuel). You could add some octane booster and see if it helps.

You should be fine using the factory dipstick high mark.

The perceived loss of power could just be that the oil/engine was not hot yet, as the days have been cooler?

About the oil in the intake, I have the same and need to install a catch can on the driver side ccv line. I also found oil in the driverside charge pipe.

Thanks for the feedback guys. For now I'm going to assume bad gas. I'll put in some octane booster and see what happens with the next fill up.
