Default Installing TN Single Turbo Kit this week - any tips?

Just about to begin the installation process of the single TN kit on my 2004 Roadster. It has the newer style piping and cat. I know this isn't the best system out there but I got a good deal.

Does anyone have any tips that should have been in the instructions that will help my install run smoother?

I am also installing the UTEC with Map Sensor, 440CC Injectors, PLX Wideband 02, Boost and EGT gauges, AAM Basic Fuel Return Kit and Oil Pan Spacer.

The turbonetics install is very easy. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. If you get stuck anywhere, post it up here and we'll talk you thru it.

Good luck!

What should I use to wrap it? I have heard stories about wanting a longer one that may be made by TN. Can I/Should I wait to get a longer one?

Can I install the kit by taking the AC line off completely and then installing the upgraded AC line later (like before next summer)

I know in the instructions it says to have a professional do the AC line. Just to take it off is there any precautions to take by doing it myself? I know its bad for the environment so please dont flame me for doing it but I am sure its something most of you have probably done as well at some time.

You use heat wrap to wrap it. The self adhesive stuff with an aluminized coating. You can get rolls of it from pretty much any parts place or from Summit or ebay, etc, online.

Can't really help you with the A/C stuff as I just ripped all that crap out. But yes, if you do discharge it yourself without the recovery equipment, prepare yourself for a toxic cloud

I had to flee the garage for a while till it cleared out, lol

Just take your car to mechanic and have them evac your system. Not very expensive at all.

If you can get the longer one, great.... if not, just wrap the **** out of it.

How about getting this "one touch joint" off Where the AC hose hits the AC Condenser?

so is it much safer and better off getting a fuel return system for the turbonetics kit, i only wanna run 8psi., which is the best option for me? and anything else i should look into to be safe as possible.

also i bought my kit as an auto kit, but i am getting a 6spd crossover pipe, it will bolt right up and convert the kit to the manual kit right? im pretty sure it is the same bolting up wise

Ok. I am finished with all the turbo stuff with a few exceptions...

Any one have a quick lay out or idea where all the vacuum lines should go and where I should tap and T from for UTEC, gauges and Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Run your map sensor off one vacuum line do not T into it. I drilled extra holes in my plenumn for more vacuum lines. I would not use a vacuum block.

Just drill it it is real easy to take off and drill 3 holes and tap then reassembled took less than 1 hour. And cost 8 bucks for the 1/8 npt fittings. Thats pipe thread fittings. And use thread high temp sealant. Here is a link with some picks if you choose to go the right route.
