japtrix (and other orlando tuners)
Hey everyone, I've got a powerlab Z with a tanabe hyper medallion exhaust. I am buying a more free flowing exhaust and am looking for a tuner who can re-tune my car. The car has a very good/safe tune on it now, and i dont want the car to run like crap b/c of a new tune. my question is, have people had good experience with japtrix??? Ive done some research but havent found much. If not japtrix is there anyone in orlando area who does good work? (excluding PF because they have moved/moving)? thanks everyone!!!!

Sometimes driving a little further is well worth it in order to get your car tuned by a respectable tuner. Roger(the shorter one) @ Japtrix is a very good tuner.
There is also a guy named Martin or Mark(can't quite remember) at a shop called www.feverracing.com in Tampa that I heard is also a very good tuner for the Z/G

I can't answer for up north by you, but as far as Japtrix is concerned roger or jack will take very good care of you and your car. As coachk said a little drive is worth it for piece of mind. A word of advice be careful with the new exhaust your car will most likely overboost in this weather.

Go see CFT (Central Florida Turbo) in Orlando. Rollo is a good tuner and they have a Mustang Dyno. Just don't let them do any mechanical work to the car and you'll be good.

The mixed reviews you have seen was a bunch of bullsh*t from some children, the rest was from people that just jump on the bandwagon for the hell of it. It happens hear all the time.

Ztouring...I have never heard a bad thing about Roger tuning cars. Even JT says Roger is more than capable of doing good tunes. Ask Island Savage about how happy he is with the tune Roger did on his Z, and that was a Utec.

Japtrix has been tuning my car, and they do a great job. Remember, though, that it takes time to get a good tune dialed in. If you go in wanting to pay only for an hour of tuning time, it will be adequate to get you on the road, but it may not be as smooth as you want it. For my car, Rodger and Jack worked on the dyno to get a good base tune, then Rodger drove around with me with his laptop plugged into the F-Con to fine tune it even more for everyday driving conditions.
