My camera bit the dust with the second motor and I haven't replaced it yet.

A few pics of the mock-up of the new timing cover setup:

Sorry about the darkness, but its really cloudy today. It looks good in the sun, but not as nice as the powder coat IMO, plus this has been done before. I got the rear done too (no pics). I am going to try and use my dremel to get in the tight spots a little better. Can anyone reccommend a buffing compound (rookie)?

The bolts will still be blue, they are still at Justice right now. Some of the powerder coat is looking a bit beat since everything has been taken apart 3-4 times now.... just more money and effort wasted I suppose .

These are my favorite new pieces:

My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress-p8130316.jpg My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress-p8130317.jpg

Bases for the covers in DB and the covers in red to match the other stuff. I can't wait to see how these look on the car!!

I have been trying for months to place an order with ZeeToyz, but they are in chaos so I finally gave up and went a different route:

My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress-p8130318.jpg

Wiper fuild cap, oil filler cap and power steering fluid caps done to match as well.

Paint going on the engine bay tonight, big reveal should be Saturday morning .

Looks Great! BTW for polish I use mother's mag and aluminum polish on the dremel all the time, I would give it a try.

I'm a sucker for the red/blue and silver look.

Here is how I spent the afternoon:

Finished taping off the garage for paint. Exhaust fan setup.

My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress-p8130336.jpg

Then I cleaned up and taped off the valve covers to go out for paint.

The compressor kept tripping the breaker in the garage, so we had to fire up the generator and plug it in there.

My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress-p8130337.jpg

I'm not sure if you can see it or not, but the spray and mist was pouring out of the garage by the fan. I'm glad i covered the **** out of everything ahead of time.

Some pics after the clear was shot:

I feel like a kid on christmas , can't wait to unwrap everything on Saturday morning.

Just to make my day a bit better, Blouch called today and said my turbos are done already (2 day turn - those guys are unreal) and Dave from HeadGames called and said if the cams show up tomorrow as planned he will lash the valves and have them out tomorrow or Monday (another amazing turn time). Dave will have flow results shortly so people can get and idea of how beneficial headwork can be on the VQ's.

Time to clean up and go meet the wife for some drinks to celebrate .

I even did the hood prop rod .

I have 3 small areas that need to be touched up possibly, but overall I am very happy.

No, no runs. I had a professional painter come out and shoot the paint, I know my limits .

Yes, there is a plastic trim piece between the cover and the windshield, I just didn't put it back on yet. There are just 2 or 3 slight blemishes that I will try to get resolved tomorrow if possible. I didn't do the interior hood right now because it would have been much more overspray. I figured I could take the hood off and have it done this winter if I want.
